Wonderful atmosphere in the port the evening we got there as there had been a regatta. Lots of street food vans and restaurants. Fabulous ice cream from Jean & Jacques! We love this town.
We love this town. It is our 3rd visit (& we're from Australia)! It's lovely wandering along the waterfront & through the pedestrian zone. We also like walking all the way from Lindau-Reutin to the island. There are many options for different excursions.Guest review byT - 10.0

The port area is bustling with tourists and events, and you can definitely enjoy your time there. Don't forget to visit the calmer beachside of the lake near the Spielplatz. You can enjoy the cool wind with sun there and, if adventurous, also a swim. Lindau island is not so big. You can make a round trip easily in a day. Don't hurry up, enjoy the sceneries, may be a boat ride. I would like to give a shout-out Helin Döner & Pizza. We just loved the Döner there, definitely worth trying. Both the rooms had separate TVs and excellent silent acoustics. Although the hotel is about a 5 min drive from the city centre, it was not a problem for us since we were driving. The free parking was appreciated since this is quite uncommon to find in Germany. The hotel is right at the Austrian border, with an excellent restaurant in the same building and a Pizza/Doner shop close by. The Parking is extra 15 euros per day. The breakfast is extra 16.90 euros (kids are free), it offered a great variety, and the food was of excellent quality. The hotel is located in some kind of industrial zone, 10 mins drive from Lindau, so you need a car to live here. There is a McDonalds nearby. Many parking spots so it was very convenient for us. Also the bus station to Lindau island is very close to the hotel, easy walking distance even for my aunt who is 76 years old and my mum who is 72. The building itself is old, but it has been wonderfully renovated in a way that preserves many of the original features. Our accommodation was exceptionally spacious, so that we effectively had both a sitting room and a bedroom.
