We had the great pleasure of visiting Engel 16 in Gutach, and from the very first moment we felt truly welcome. Astrid and Victor greeted us warmly with champagne and gave us an excellent introduction to the Black Forest area, especially the many beautiful hiking routes. They were always smiling, attentive, and genuinely kind. Victor, always smiling and polite, prepared the meals himself with the finest ingredients — and every dish was simply outstanding. Each morning, the breakfast buffet was perfectly prepared and ready for us, a wonderful way to start the day. Astrid made sure we enjoyed the perfect drinks and hospitality throughout our stay, which made us feel truly at home. All in all, Engel 16 is a beautiful and peaceful place with fantastic food and outstanding service. Thank you so much, Astrid and Victor, for this unforgettable stay! The rooms were just the right size, the washrooms clean and very well fitted out! The staff was exceptionally enthusiastic and cooperative, and the breakfast and food otherwise left little to be desired! The cherry on top of the icing are the hosts, the very kind and friendly couple who run and operate this lovely facility!!

    Gutach is a great base for exploring the Black Forest.

    Gutach is a great base for exploring the Black Forest. The scenery is great, and the distances to better known towns is not great. The open air museum was much more than I expected, tho the tourist gauntlet to get to the front gate is a bit much. The KONUS card is a great benefit. Free train rides and discounts to the best attractions. Be sure to eat at the Rathskeller in Hausach

    Lovely place with such a welcoming vibe. It is very clean, the beds are comfortable and the owners go out of their way to make you feel at home and help you finding activities or restaurants in the area that fit your wishes (or dietary restrictions). Me and my partner have been travelling through Germany, specifically the Black Forest area, and this is by far the best hotel we've been to.

    Our stay at this hotel was excellent. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, providing valuable tips for exploring the surrounding area. The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel's central location made it convenient for sightseeing and starting hikes. The breakfast was truly outstanding, couldn't have wished for a better start to the day.
