Großenbrode is a beautiful village on the Baltic coast in Northern Germany. The beaches are clean and sandy with life guard stations dotted throughout for safety. There are several coastal towns nearby where you can shop and sightsee. I'd say it's more a holiday destination for families with small children or for couples as there's no late night bars or discos in the village. We ate at a different restaurant every night in Großenbrode. There's something for everyone. Every morning you can pick up freshly made Rolls for breakfast-if you're lucky, they're still warm. If it's relaxing on the beach you're after, this is the place to be. You can rent a "Strandkorb" for a few euros a day where you can lie, protected from the wind, all day. There are 2 large-ish supermarkets in the village so buying provisions for your stay is no problem. We can't wait for our next trip there, everything is so laid back and relaxing.
