Hotel Libertas Elements Pure is more of a 4 star boutique hotel, situated in easy to find location in Freiburg im Breisgau, staff were superb on arrival, I wanted to use their electric charger for my car, and charge point 1 was available on arrival, they only have a small number, we got lucky, the car park is 50m around the corner, the underground parking garage does not have e charging. we checked into a nice boutique larger room, shower room superb, separate WC sleep quality was excellent, although we did not use the bar, the breakfast in the morning was plentiful buffet style, superb, in morning car was charged up and ready to go, could not ask for a better stay, staff speak english..great stay.

Warm welcome, lots of information about Spa days and also restaurants! Room was spacious, clean, and quiet as we had one not on the main road. Parking is just on the corner under the Marriot and you can access it easily. We used the hotel rate and just paid for the three days. Really easy as you can come and go without paying time and time again. We didn’t try the breakfast so I can’t comment. We did ask for extra towels one day and they were at the door in 5 minutes! Would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Freiburg is an excellent choice for those wanting to see...

Freiburg is an excellent choice for those wanting to see typical Black Forest buildings and culture. The cathedral is very impressive, with many sculptures and and a very detailed exterior. Those interested in architectural restoration will find detailed information about the continual process of renewing the cathedral. Restaurant selection in the Altstadt is good, and an efficient streetcar system can take you outside the city walls if you want something farther afield. There are lots of hiking trails in the hills above the city. Everyone I dealt with spoke English, and quite a few signs in museums and the cathedral were also in English. QR codes are frequent for those who want more info. One museum ticket gets you into several museums on the same day (good activities if it's raining).

Largely traffic-free around the old town, which made for very pleasant walking. Cobbled streets with small waterways beside. Lots of interesting shops, nearly all geared for tourists of course. Beautiful church in the centre.

We were only there for about 24 hours.

We were only there for about 24 hours. Unfortunately, it was a Sunday and most things were closed with the exception of restaurants and a few shops. However, Freiburg im Breisgau did not disappoint. It is such a cute town and very walkable! The architecture is amazing! I hope to come back for a longer length of time!

The old town is gorgeous, really characterful.

The old town is gorgeous, really characterful. We loved the market square - if you like cheesecake, Stefan's Cheesecakes are definitely a must-have. We particularly enjoyed visiting the church. If you can manage the stairs, the view from the top is amazing, and being able to see the bells close up is great. Walking up Schlossberg (or taking the funicular, though it only goes part-way up) is also a must-do, particularly to go up the Aussichtsturm Schlossberg: terrific views. You could easily spend two full days exploring this city at a relaxed pace. Plus there are great walks within a short driving distance.

Lovely city with a nice buzz to it.

Lovely city with a nice buzz to it. Good for a dedicated few days or as a base for Black Forest trips. No shortage of varying restaurants. We used the regular and reliable rail system to get around but I would recommend having your own transport if you are wanting to get off track in the Black Forest.

Location of the hotel was perfect, nestled in the downtown area couldn't have been better for exploring the old town of Freiburg. Parking was easy. Breakfast was a bit odd, very regional but staff were very friendly and provided us with free bottles of water and chocolate snacks for the onward journey. The room was nice, each one was named after a writer - very cute.

Lovely hotel ideal for a short stay around Freiburg. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. It has a free of charge private parking, and it's next to a bus stop which connects you to the trams for the city centre. Just a few bus stops away we have discovered a restaurant called Lindenmatte which offered amazing food.

Very friendly staff, comfortable beds, really clean. It’s on the outskirt of Freiburg so more quiet. The tram to the centre of Freiburg is in front of the hotel, in 15 minutes you are in the centre of Freiburg!
