A truly outstanding stay! The room was comfortable with a brand-new bathroom, and the view from the terrace was just stunning. The owning couple are such lovely people who clearly put a lot of care and attention into every detail. Breakfast was amazing and far above what you’d normally expect in this area. Overall, this hotel offers so much more than the usual standard – highly recommended!will come back for sure!!

Great place with wonderful owners. The room was very fresh and spotless. Breakfast and dinner were both really good. I do enjoy that you need to order beforehand. The portions are very generous. You sort of forget it's a hotel, but you get the feeling you've come to someone's home. I really enjoyed my stay and would come back!

I work in the hospitality industry myself and as such we tend to be very critical. It is not often that you find the professional welcome and service you are providing yourself on a daily basis. Here you are made welcome instantly and the rest of the stay just was just as perfect. Great place to stay for touring the Harz mountains. The first thing that happened upon my arrival was to get the motorbike off the street, and around the back, next to theirs. Brilliant, in a courtyard safe and sound. I didn't even have to ask, it was offered straight away. I had the best room in the house, I was overlooking my bike, so what could be better. My room had everything that I needed in it for a nice relaxing stay. I slept really well, the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was ample for me too. All in all I'd stay here again if I'm round this way again. Thanks to you both.

A small, sleepy town on the edge of the southern Harz...

A small, sleepy town on the edge of the southern Harz Mountains. Perfect if you're looking for peace and quiet. It's a shame there aren't more vacation rentals there. But I already knew Ellrich; I have friends there, so it was just right for me.

Visiting the monastery ruins was great.

Visiting the monastery ruins was great. The concentration camp memorial is worth visiting, even if there isn't much to see, because it's part of German history. Bad Sachsa and Nordhausen are must-sees. They're well worth it.

Overall, everything was excellent and the best choice we could have made for this Pentecost weekend. The hosts are very friendly, the location and surroundings are idyllic, with lots of nature. The interior offers something for everyone, whether young or old – simply wonderful.
