Checked in on the Friday and visited the Signal Iduna Park for their game against Leverkusen, then visited the zoo on Saturday and spent Sunday walking around the centre and the national football museum. Everyone is friendly and getting around is easy with the tubes and buses.

Dortmund is a fascinating city with a mix of old-world charm and modern energy.Walking through the city center, you find a blend of historic and contemporary architecture. Some of the older churches, like the Reinoldikirche and Marienkirche, stand tall as reminders of Dortmund’s medieval past. The parks and green spaces are another surprise here. Westfalenpark, for example, is a vast, beautifully landscaped area with a rose garden, playgrounds, and the Florianturm, a tall TV tower with an observation deck.

Obviously, Dortmund is known for BVB (the football team) which is why I regularly travel to it every year! It may not be steeped in history or the most glamorous city (largely thanks to the War), but I really enjoy it always. People are super friendly, there are plenty of great shops, nice regional food, good cafés & bars, markets on a Saturday, and of course great football! It's easily accessible by train as well as car, and a really nice weekend stay. Or longer if you plan to see more German cities too. Like a lot of continental Europe, you get nice weather into autumn but it can be colder and rainy in winter and spring. But that is all part of the charm in the Rührpott! Dortmund ist die schönste Stadt! 🟡⚫️🇮🇪

We went for the football museum, which I recommend for fans. We also visited the Dortmund stadium and the team museum. I recommend several days to visit the city, it is a city with tourist potential, unfortunately we did not manage to visit it in detail.

We did not go sightseeing, were there for a wedding and I want to give a shout out to Wesley who worked at front desk, he was our savior, we arrived at the hotel by Taxi and we thought as everywhere else they accept card but the driver did not accept card and would not talk English, my husband offered him $40, our fair was only 9 euros. So Wesley helped us and always greeted everyone with smile.

We enjoyed our stay and position was great - the staff were fantastic all very very good unfortunately we visited during Euro '24 when all hotels were very expensive especially as we booked at the very last minute. Dortmund was a great host city and very very welcoming - Well done Germany :-)

The room looked great, it was way more equipped than we needed for a one night stay (definitely recommended for longer stays, since you have a mini kitchen inside). The hotel is in the center of Dortmund, it was very easy to get to the airport shuttle station in the middle of the night.
