    Small cozy town that really seems beautiful. I find the old town and the castle one of sweet spots and if you rent a car, you can get to some really nice places around there. Town is clean and peaceful. It could be better lit at night.

    Braunschweig gets overlooked, but the art gallery is the second largest in Europe after the Louvre. Would make a great stopover on the way to Berlin (direct motorway). Very reasonable and not overcrowded. Excursions to the VW works in Wolfsburg next door, or Wolfenbuettel (Lessinghaus, castle and library). The old inner German border crossing of Helmstedt Marienborn (monastery) would be another day trip, or the slightly further Harz mountains. Braunschweig was the capital city of a dukedom and therefore boasts a theatre and a swimming pool.

    Wonderful city full of history and some lovely buildings.

    Wonderful city full of history and some lovely buildings. Good public transport and friendly people The Schloss was good for retail outlets and cafes The information office was difficult to find but once there it was found, it had all the information you wanted and the staff spoke good English if your German was not good. The cathedral and other churches were worth a visit Need more than a couple of days to really see and enjoy the city

    Braunschweig has a beautiful center with very old historical (much rebuilt after WW2) buildings, and also a very modern shopping mall (Schloss). People are very easy going and friendly. There are many opportunities to eat and drink on a terras or inside places.

    Would be lovely to have a mini fridge in the room, an air conditioning as well please. I'm not sure if live music is normally available. I stayed there during lockdown due to Covid 19, perhaps things would have been different if there was no pandemic.

    The hotel is just across the central train station and the public transport hub (tram and bus). And that is an excellent starting point for exploring the wonderful city. The room was as expected with the usual contents - A/C, TV, small fridge. Pretty clean, and there's nothing to complain about. It would be nice to have a water heater for making coffee. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was amicable. Wifi was amazing.
