The access to walks and other things to do was excellent.
The access to walks and other things to do was excellent. You can get around on foot, bike, bus, ferry or train. Maps are helpfully provided. The tourist information staff are very knowledgeable and kind. The therme is large and wasn’t too busy when we went (end September). Swimming outside in the sun and rain was a highlight, as was floating in the salty water of the music experience pool. We ate in our hotel so can’t comment on the local restaurants, but there were several to choose from. We visited the National Park Centre which was interesting, but mostly aimed at children. There wasn’t very much in English, so best if you can read German or Czech. People were really kind. It’s the first place I’ve been to where you arrive by train and immediately catch a ferry to get to town!Guest review byNICOLAUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Quaint little town with cosy feel, beautiful architecture and an easy access to hiking trails. Visitors centre can provide with all the equipment necessary for hiking. Bad Schandea lovely area for older couples or young couples interested in walking, cycling or running as great paths alongside the river, transport free to surrounding villages with varied options of frequent transport ie ferry, trains, tram and buses. Lovely quiet town on the Elbe river.
Lovely quiet town on the Elbe river. Well connected with roads, publish transport including river ferries. Plenty to do and excellent excursions fronm the town, eg hiking, mountain biking. Good indoor pool incl. wellness / spa centre. You need to book restaurants for dinner in the high season. And by 9pm its quite quiet, so not a lot of night life!Guest review byMartin RGermany

The house is walking distance to the Elbe river. It features the wellness area with sauna and the bier garden right next to the house. Our booking included breakfast which was very nice as well. It was in another location with the terrace outlooking the river. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, which is intentional, but you can catch free Wi-Fi in the restaurant and beer garden , if needed. Accommodation slightly out of the town centre but within walking distance (through pretty park) to shops, restaurants and ferry to the station. Heritage tram (every 30 mins) also very close by. It is worth being aware that it runs right past the villa - could be a bit noisy if you had an apartment on the road-facing side.
