The hotel is beautiful in a very nice location for relaxing trip in the Mosel. Since we had the private sauna suite, I’m a bit biased when saying that it was amazing. As someone who grew up with Finnish sauna, I must say the one we had in our room was superb. In addition, the bubble bath was amazing. The restaurant food was very good as well.

Alf is a small village on the Moselle River.

Alf is a small village on the Moselle River. During the autumn holidays, many restaurants were already closed on weekdays. The bakery had delicious rolls. Boat departures were also no longer daily. In the peak season, from March/April to the end of September, it becomes much more lively here. From Alf, you can easily drive up or down the Moselle to other charming towns.

The towns of Traben-Trarbach, Bernkastel-Kues, Cochem, and Beilstein are worth seeing. We had a good meal in Zell at the restaurant "Am Alten Bahnhof". Cycling, hiking, and boat trips are also popular activities.

If Alf continues on its current path, it will become a dying...

If Alf continues on its current path, it will become a dying community. A lack of restaurants, poor cleanliness, and numerous empty, dilapidated houses characterize the town. Something needs to be done. Bremm, Beilstein, and Bullay are good examples to look to for inspiration.

Alf is a small, charming village, making it a great base for your adventures in the area. There are plenty of cycling routes, and you'll never tire of hiking. From Alf, you can reach everything you need within a few kilometers. There are several restaurants with excellent food, and 1.5 kilometers further, just over the bridge in Bullay, you'll find a large supermarket.

We wanted to go to the "Prinzenkopf" observation tower above...

We wanted to go to the "Prinzenkopf" observation tower above Alf to admire the legendary Moselle loop near Pünderich; a highly recommended view, as you can see the Moselle from up there both on the way there and on the way back (180° loop).

A beautiful, very quiet little town along the Moselle River...

A beautiful, very quiet little town along the Moselle River and its junction with the Alfbach. No heavy traffic or railway, ideal for relaxing. There's a good bakery, a good Italian restaurant, and a great Italian ice cream parlor. There's also a lovely terrace for ice cream and drinks at the Panorama Café Moselgarten overlooking the Moselle.

Apartment well positioned in the village of Alf and has amazing view on the river Mosel. The balconies let you enjoy your morning, afternoon or evening coffee with an amazing view. Apartments are very comfortable, clean, nicely decorated and provide all amenities one would look for. One of the most amazing things are the beds. So comfortable! In all the apartment has it all, even a coffee machine!

I booked this hotel for my parents who are older and for my teen granddaughter. The hosts were incredibly nice and helpful, and went out of their way to help my parents. The hosts also accommodated a later check in and were easy to communicate with. The apartment was really spacious and really comfortable, and had all of the amenities that they would need.

Upon arriving, we received a free upgrade for one of the rooms - without even asking. The hotel is in a very quiet area and in good weather the sun terrace is a nice spot. The bar is cosy and offers a fine selection of drinks.
