* The location is extraordinary, located near the top of the mountain, surrounded by the forests of the Krkonoše mountains. Very quiet and peaceful. When my dogs and I walked the nearby trails we saw very few people. * A few lovely lookout points within easy walking distance. * I stayed in a room with shared hallway bathroom: one for men and one for women. There were not very many guests when I was there so this was not an issue. * The couple who owns the property are extremely kind and helpful. Though I speak basic Czech and can manage my affairs, the owners speak excellent English. * Breakfast was typical Czech buffet: fresh bread, homemade pernik (Czech cake similar to gingerbread), cheese, sliced meats, scrambled eggs, sausages, yogurt, dry cereal, juice, coffee, tea. The restaurant caters to various diet requirements as well. In the evening there were two vegetarian options. Tasty food, reasonably priced: Breakfast was 170 CZK and dinner was 190 CZK. The bar has a wide range of beverages: homemade lemonades, coffees, teas, local beers, and alcoholic offerings. * Since the building was constructed in the 1920s, it has wood floors, wood stairs, and real wood paneling in the hallways that do show signs of wear after so many years. I came to see that as part of it's charm and history. The dining room and bar area have old hardwood floors and wooden beamed ceilings, with high ceilings. There is a huge wall mural of the local area in the dining room. Outside a nice seating area with a number of picnic tables offers a place to enjoy drinks and food, surrounded by the woods. * Wooden sculptures inside the building and a larger one outside. * For families with children, there is a play room, children's corner in the dining room; and outside, an in-ground trampoline, fire pit, tree swing, volleyball/football court with sand. * Staying there is a bit like going back in time. Absolutely charming. I plan to return.

We could check in earlier than official time and check out a bit later. Parking for free. Close to all places of interest. There is a bycicle storage. A quite nice swimming pool and whirlpool for free. Rooms are clean and newly reconstructed. We slept very well. Breakfast was fine. Receptionists were very nice and helpful.

Great hotel for people looking for rest, fun and good food (restaurant). Beer is just fantastic, the same as desserts. Prices are really affordable, everyone will find something to suit the budget. Great restaurant and kitchen staff. Our 4-person room was composed of 3 rooms in fact. The old times you can feel in the corridors only.

Liked the museum, Krakonosovo bakery, restaurants, ski lifts. Traditional town with the beautiful surroundings and views, not overcrowded & overpriced like other touristic places. You can meet nice & honest people there. Easy to get around by car or public transport (buses).

The hosts were very kind and attentive.

The hosts were very kind and attentive. It's a lovely guesthouse with large, nicely furnished rooms that were very comfortable and clean. The view and the grounds are wonderful. Breakfast was very good and plentiful, and dinner was always delicious (and hot). Thank you, we would love to come back.

I do not recommend accommodation at the Větrov Hotel, which lives off the glitter of the magnificent summer villa of the great figures of the First Republic, including President Masaryk, and apart from the restaurant, the guest is strangely placed in today's poor reality in everything.

Vysoke is a very quiet little town, not suitable for people...

Vysoke is a very quiet little town, not suitable for people who love nightlife! Life here is peaceful and tranquil. The surrounding area is ideal for hiking. It's also a good base for excursions to the Giant Mountains and the Jizera Mountains (by car or bus).

We were there 8 years ago.

We were there 8 years ago. There were fewer restaurants, nothing new was added. Lunch in the restaurant on the square was dill sauce with potatoes and egg, soup from the menu for 169 CZK seems too much to me! As a bonus, there was the opportunity to join the SPD petition!

I was in Vysoké for health reasons, so I don't have much...

I was in Vysoké for health reasons, so I don't have much experience with the area, but it's beautiful there, they have a nice city park. I was surprised how many good shops and services there are in such a small village, apart from the excellent hospital: bakery, grocery store, restaurant U medvěda on the square, flower shop on the square, coffee roaster, refreshments in the hospital, etc. Helpful at the post office.
