Far from civilization, access via a winding, scenic road. We asked in the town downstairs which street to turn into. Rooms with a terrace and a wonderful view of the island. Modestly, but cleanly. It is obvious that this is a new hotel or a new room. The elevator was not working when we arrived. It was difficult to get through to the staff at night, but then they opened the gate for us. The breakfast is great! especially the coffee and local dishes. But the room needs more equipment: a bedside table only on one side of the bed. Hot drinks are important in the mountains, but there is no kettle. The lighting is very cold. There is a refrigerator, but it is very noisy. The Internet does not work well in the room, although the router is nearby. Nowhere is it written what time breakfast is and what is the password for Wi-Fi

That was a pleasant stay after busy days in the city. The "best place in the world". Calm, minimalist, in the valley below the mountains. Easy access to the main road by car and feet. Perfect base for hiking.

Authentic village life at its best! Tugged away from the rest of the world, Ja opened a room of her ancestor's home to guests who would like to experience what it's like to live in Cape Verdian raw country side - which includes being offline, taking cold showers with a bucket and a mug, sleeping in pin drop silence (apart from the roosters), walking in the steep hills, etc. One can go with a shared taxi until the roundabout of Sao Domingos. From there, a local can come and pick you up for 300 ESC, or you can walk (it's absolutely safe, the locals are friendly and helpful, location on the map is accurate). They can also drop you to the airport for 1500 ESC, and it just takes 30mins to reach. Ja knows how to cook for vegetarians, too. She is a witty and interesting host to talk to. I am still amazed at the purity and simplicity of this place, and hope to be back one day.

The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. The lady was so sweet and let me keep the room the next day until I went to the airport without my even asking. It was in a good location for the hike I wanted. Comfortable, safe and good value for money. They also organised a cheaper airport taxi. Very responsive to messages. Thanks again for the great stay
