We visited Golfito due to its convenience to nearby wildlife viewing (particularly birding) opportunities. A car is a must for this, so if you are not renting a vehicle, this option is not recommended. The property also provides good opportunities for fishing charters. Golfito is a very pretty area on the shores of the Golfito Bay with a variety of activities and restaurants and bars, and overall a very good range of facilities. A great base to explore the surrounding Parks and Bays and the Gulf with a ferry across to Puerto Jimenez. The room we rented was huge and had a nice view of the bay. The food at the restaurant is pretty good and we enjoyed the free breakfast. After we finished dinner, we were treated to manta-ray swimming by as we looked on from the balcony. But it is easy to get to by 🚖 or public transport 🚍. I also saw 🐵 in the garden. The owner from Switzerland, Walther, is great. He drove me to the Supermarket and animals sanctuary.
