The hacienda beachfront feel to the property was really nice with great views of the sea. The food was tasty and plentiful and the chef was always happy to accommodate. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and the bed was amazing. The sound of the waves from the sea help for a great sleep. The gym was well equipped and a nice touch for us who like to workout early. The pool was refreshing and a great place to chill with a cocktail. I enjoyed my two nights at Sunset Del Mar and highly recommend it. I will be back.

Right on the beach!

Right on the beach! We had lots of fun swimming, great sunrise and sunsets! We like the fact that we were off the beaten path. I don't think we ever saw more than 20-30 people on the beach the entire time we were there. Charlie dont surf, but every morning there were about 5-10 surfers doin what surfers do most were gone by 8am.

The sea is very neglected by the locals.

The sea is very neglected by the locals. There's a lot of trash washed ashore and too many dogs off-leash. It's a nice place to go during the week when it's not crowded, but a weekend must be awful.

I recommend this hotel; I would definitely return. The rooms are simple but fine, clean, with comfortable beds, air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, and a coffee maker. Excellent value for money. Attentive staff.

it's now our favorite hotel in Costa Rica! SO nice and clean. Staff is super helpful and smiley. The infinity pool is absolutely stunning!! There are Monkeys in the trees, parrots flying around.. its so beautifuland green and lush! AND THE FOOD :) Sooooo delicious!! Location is ideal, away from the bustle but a short drive to Jaco and Quepos. We 100 % recommend.

Great location! Esterillos is a quiet and a bit neglected village between Jaco and Quepos, which makes it great if you want a superb uncrowded beach with loads of scarlet macaws right behind the door. The staff was nice and helpful, the breakfast very good, the sunrises and sunsets superb... would return again at once.
