The location of the hotel was excellent, being relatively close to San Jose and the airport, but also a good base to tour from. The rooms were elevated with spectacular views over forest, and we had breakfast on the balcony accompanied by humming birds in the adjacent bushes. The hotel grounds included a short trail, which was also stunning. The family that owned the hotel were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They organised a driver for us to undertake specific tours and helped us with a number of other matters during our stay.

We were very happy to stay at this lovely small hotel with a beautiful garden and friendly hosts 🌸 The spacious, well-kept garden is wonderful, with funny rabbits freely hopping around🥰 Everything is very clean, and the breakfast and dinner were delicious. Lovely quirky rooms, spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - delicious buffet and menu choices with a stunning view. The trails around the property were stunning, as were the gardens and pools. Staff were lovely - super friendly and helpful.

Very pleasant highland area stay base with short distances with private car to Poas volcano and La Paz waterfall area. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, some king of personal touch brought to mind old-style country villas in Eastern or Southern Africa - very easy to feel home. Very good birding opportunities on the hotel ground, around the hotel and on the trails. We were sad to leave the place after two nights - it would have been so nice to stay longer.

From the time we arrive we felt more than welcomed.. everything was prepared for us in the most effective way..the location of the hotel was like a fairytale..our room has a fantastic view ..the breakfast was so hommy and delicious.. And above all I have to say that the owner was so kind and friendly and generous..she make everything she could to make our stay a fantastic experience.

Great place to stay when flying in or out of San Jose. Breakfast is included and so is the shuttle which was wonderful. We left early before the restaurant opened so they had a box breakfast and hot coffee and tea for us waiting with the shuttle! Excellent stay.
