Nice and free accommodation right by the ocean. The rooms were cosy and clean. Nice garden with lots of possibilities to relax. The breakfasts were tasty. The hotel is a short walk from Chauita National Park and Playa Negra Beach. I highly recommend the accommodation.

The accommodation is in a very quiet and pleasant area, but still close to everything. It’s easy to reach, and the ocean is just a short walk away. Staying at Wildlife Lodge was an amazing experience. You are right in the middle of a beautiful garden with diverse trees, fruits, and medicinal plants. We had the opportunity to taste home-grown pineapples, bananas, and other delicious fruits. The garden is not only lush and beautiful but also full of life. Fernando has a frog garden that you can explore in search of many species of animals, including red-eyed tree frogs, smoky jungle frogs (one of Costa Rica's largest amphibians – so beautiful!), and eyelash vipers (some rescued by Fernando and released back to the area around the lodge). The bungalows are really nice, in a typical style, comfortable, with a hot shower and offering privacy and seclusion. Beds have mosquito nets, and you can also use the natural insect repellant (works perfectly!) that Fernando provides. You fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the forest and howler monkeys. Fernando is an amazing person, friendly, with a great sense of humour, and very knowledgeable about animals, plants, and different ways of living. His compassion and empathy for nature are contagious. We loved our chats, learning so much from him about Costa Rica and eating homemade chocolate! The lodge is within walking distance of a beautiful beach where you can swim and be whipped by the waves. If you seek solitude on the one hand and still want to be within short biking or driving distance to Cahuita, Wildlife Lodge is hard to beat. We will be back. Thank you, Fernando, for making our stay so special.

The place is very calm with a beautiful garden. It is well maintained, also you can see multiple species of birds, heard howler monkeys around. The pool area is also great when it’s not raining 😀 It has a parking space. Overall, a perfect place, I would rebook.
