No very impressive.
No very impressive. The good thing is in the Sierra Nevada and there is a cool places nearby to visit as Minca.
But Santa Marta need people that care more about it around good places but it need TLC urgently. Is dirty require maintenance from local government and residents

Lovely historic center with great street food.
Lovely historic center with great street food. Great for sunsets at the beach(es) and wandering through the old town. Absolutely fantastic musem in the heart of the old city and the night life around the Plaza is fun and great for people watching.

The thing is that the historic centre of Santa Marta is...
The thing is that the historic centre of Santa Marta is noisy. But it is the starting point for Tayrona and Minca, as well a playa blanca (with the great Canopy). You could stay at Rodadero, but that did not look very nice either.

Our time in Santa Marta/Rodadero/Minca was nice, although we did not get the full experience of "where the mountain meet the sea" that we were expecting. We did not take a day trip to the national park because yellow fever vaccinations were required for entry. The beaches in the area are okay, though not outstanding. I'm glad we went and got to know the area, but I'd not especially recommend it.

Santa Marta is beautiful and really fun.
Santa Marta is beautiful and really fun. We stayed 4 nights, which felt just right. There isn't a ton to do there during the day, but we had two wonderful day trips. The other two days we spent wandering around the historic center, visiting the few museums and plazas and drinking a lot of mojitos.

20 years ago Santa Marta was perfect for me.
20 years ago Santa Marta was perfect for me. It was authentic, medium-sized, provincial, no hi-rise development or marina, with a colonial feel to it. Hotel chains are encroaching... Ironically I became a part of that change.

Good location in Santa Marta and easy to walk to the main town centre and waterfront and along to the Museum. Standard modern hotel. We had a King Suite with corner bed as a one night stop-over before an early flight from Santa Marta airport. Good view across to the waterfront. A standard modern hotel in a good location. A very lively night time scene which we were not expecting in Santa Marta - will work for some and not for others!

The hotel exceeded all our expectations! It’s absolutely beautiful, the rooms were some of the best we’ve stayed in, right by the sea. You can hear the waves as you fall asleep. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the delicious cocktails. Best of all were the amazing staff, particularly Arturo who made us feel so at home from the moment we arrived! We will definitely stay here again when passing through Santa Marta.

Large, comfortable, stylish, modern room. Beautiful hotel in general which you can see in the photos and very helpful, friendly staff. It's also in a very convenient location. It's close to the popular areas of Santa Marta but still quiet enough.
