I spent a few days at Shell Sea B&B and it was lovely. Prior to my stay, Manfred & Kenya booked a taxi to pick me up at the airport and Manfred came then to pick me up by boat for the last leg of the journey. This B&B is on the small island of Santa Catalina linked to the main island via a bridge - it's around 15 minutes walking but it felt very safe even at night. Manfred can help you rent a scooter/golf cart and can take you around the island on his private boat, or arrange for you to join a snorkelling tour with other people. I did that and I really enjoyed it. My little apartment was spotless, good AC and a little fridge to keep my drinks cool. You can walk to the beach nearby but it's a steep flight of stairs. Everything felt very safe and cosy, and I had a wonderful stay!

Location is amazing: all rooms facing the sea which is 10 meters away. Everything was super clean and the staff very helpful and friendly at any time. It’s also easy to reach all main beaches quickly and on the road is probably the highest density of restaurants on the island.

We’ve absolutely loved our stay here! Everything is new, clean, works perfectly and it’s just absolutely beautiful! Doris & Cesar are the most welcoming hosts ever! They always had time for a chat and helped us with everything we needed! Me and my friend have both been travelling for 6 months and never experienced such hospitality! The cabanas are lovely, set in a nice garden with even a pool that is useful after a day at the beach. The interior of the cabanas is basic but they are clean, spacious, with fridge and air conditioning and an outdoor space. The staff is friendly and helpful and the included breakfast is good and complete. I had read negative reviews and honestly don't see the point. The beach in front no longer exists because of the hurricane that hit the island a few years ago, the bar/restaurant La Terrazza in front offers sunset views and really good cocktails. Providencia is still an island little exploited by mass tourism, but there is a lot of restaurants , especially on the beach, really nice and good, with delicious fish and lobster. There are sunflies and mosquitos but with a good repellent they are kept away 😉
