The hostess was super helpful and spoke excellent English. The Anhui breakfast was delicious and varied. The hostess gave us clear instructions on how to get to the mountain the next day, and helped us figure out how to get the tickets.

The owners at Cloudy Warm Hotel were extremely helpful and friendly, and went above and beyond with their level of service. We planned on visiting the Huangshan mountains and they had kindly offered to drive us up to the shuttle bus station, after a delicious homemade breakfast! The room was very spacious with comfortable beds and a very cosy duvet! The location of the hotel was just what we needed and even had a stroll through the local town for some evening meals. We would highly recommend Cloudy Warm hotel, and both Mr & Mrs Yan. This is a lovely hotel and couldn’t have asked for anymore!

The hotel is very new with contemporary designed interiors and we found the room and dining room bright and spacious. Staff were very helpful. They responded readily to online messaging in English during the booking. Loved the morning buffet. Had complimentary local snacks and water bottles in our room at check-in. The hotel referred a private minivan driver to transport us the 40 minutes from the Huangshan North train station to the hotel. We needed wechat to communicate to arrange with the driver. Or else you will need to use mandarin to speak with the driver. Accomodated our late check-in as we arrived later by fast train from Hong Kong. James X. was patient in explaining the simple booking process for us to hike Huangshan and he even personally walked with us for 5 minutes to the closeby Huangshan mountain tour booking and bus centre where you are transported to the cable car stations. Very close. Definitely would book this hotel again.

This is a very comfortable countryside hotel, with clean rooms and beautiful views i could see from the bed directly. The owner comes from Austria and his Chinese wife can speak fluent English and German, giving me a lot of travel advice here. In addition, the chef here can not only make very authentic Anhui cuisine, but also very authentic German cuisine. Roast pork elbow is especially recommended! This could totally be a vacation destination! Not only a sleeping-place. Staying in the hotel is already a great experience! I’ll come back.

I liked the modern design of the hotel. The room was nice and comfortable and had a very nice balcony. Super nice owner and staff who are also very helpful regarding tips for hiking on Huangshan, as well as recommendations for the surrounding area. They also speak English very well. Another big advantage is the location. Convenient for food, groceries and the bus station for the shuttle buses to Huangshan, yet away from the main street and therefore relatively quiet, while being right next to the river.

This hotel is very comfortable and clean. Our room was spacious, with large, comfortable beds. Our host was friendly and informative. He helped us with our Huangshan hike planning and transportation. Breakfast was delicious with good quality coffee. We also got a discount in the hotel restaurant where we had a really nice dinner. The hotel is right next to the bus station for buses to the start of the Huangshan hike and buses back to Huangshan railway station.

The room is peaceful and very comfortable and the staff are warm and helpful. If you stay in Tangkou, it is probably more convenient but so noisy. The hotel will arrange to send and pick us up when we get down from Huangshan. WeChat is highly recommended. Breakfast is delicious and more than enough for a good start in Huangshan. We had a very good stay here. Absolutely can recommend this place!

Saying “everything” would be too easy, so I’ll try to list only the best: - kindness and availability of the host and her family (thank you Sunny!!) - cleanness and space of the room - homemade breakfast, available also to go - silence and sleep quality (bed, room temperature etc) Hotel super suggested if you want to feel home and experience the Huangshan with the right foot!
