Valparaiso is bohemian in a rough way, great to stroll around Cerro Alegre and concepcion for a couple of days. A constant smell of human urine and dog shit. ( not so bad in the 2 Cerros mentioned but the rest ....;(.....the lower part of the city is an example when a city is left to decay. The city has some lovely spots such as the terrace around Palacio Baburizza. I had dinner in Restorán Capri and Gran Sazón Nazca and the food was great. The major disadvantage are the safety issues. It was beautifully furnished and decorated like all of the hotel. There are spaces to sit and enjoy the place, inside and out on the big terrace. Good views down and across the valley. Good breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff. Parking is a short step away in a secure location. The area is Cerro Alegere, one of the nicer bits of Valparaiso, with lots of restaurants and street art. It is easy to get down to the centre of town on the bay.Guest review bycaroleFrance
