Best location, steps to lake Geneva promenade! Fabulous spa and indoor lap pool, jacuzzi, sauna ie Hammam with lounges both indoor and outdoor. A terrace with tent-umbrellas for breakfast, lunch or cocktails/ aperitif is divine. And the bedroom en-suite is luxurious, awesome bathroom / shower, linens/bedding super comfortable.

Modern Times Hotel is a recent development with comfortable, light and spacious rooms (and some superb views, particularly on the garden side). The hotel facilities and room furnishings are modern, in very good condition and provide for a very comfortable stay. We have found all the staff whom we've encountered to be friendly and helpful and this contributes to the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. Although located on the edge of Vevey (close to the main autoroute along Lake Geneva and connecting directly to the Bern autoroute), the hotel provides travel cards for the region and there is a good local rail service connecting to Vevey town centre which we have used several times to enjoy the lakeside atmosphere in Vevey. The hotel restaurant, which is also used for breakfast (a pretty extensive buffet), is modern, airy and relaxed. We have stayed here on numerous occasions when travelling through this region on longer trips (so we also appreciate the excellent parking availability) and have never been disappointed.

The staff especially the handsome man at the reception was patient, kind and helpful. The hotel provided the slippers when we asked for. Besides, the resident card provided was good. We can take the bus free and 50% discount of the museum fees. The hotel restaurant was beautiful.

    beautiful, tranquil town of Vevey is a pleasure to visit- we landed in Geneva and drove to Vevey that morning and we just loved our visit. We could have stayed much longer. Terrific restaurants, the village and shopping and walking the lake - just wonderful.

    It rained while we were there, so it put a bit of a dampener on our stay. We still caught the bus to the funicular and walked all around the town and waterfront, still beautiful city even in the rain! We had a great meal at Blah Blah - Italian restaurant!

    What a beautiful lakeside town & so easy to get to from...

    What a beautiful lakeside town & so easy to get to from Geneva airport, using local trains. We ate in a different restaurant each evening and all our meals were excellent. My sister, a runner, ran alongside the lakeside and we also took a kayak out on the lake. We were there to take a trip on the Golden Pass Express from Montreux to Interlaken but hadn't wanted to stay in Montreux itself. Vevey was the the perfect town for our stay. Very easy to get around and to get to and from the station. All the people we engaged with - at the station and in shops and restaurants were very helpful and welcoming. We would love to visit again.

    A lovely town beside the lake.

    A lovely town beside the lake. Much quieter and more compact than Montreaux. Easy public transport use. Free for tourists. Apart from the obvious, like Chaplin's World, take time out to visit the church of St Martin, near the train station. Rick Wakeman recorded the church organ there for the Yes album - Going For The One. James Mason & Charlie Chaplin made Vevey their home. Say no more.

    Only stayed one night and the area has so much more to offer. I would choose staying in Vevey over staying in Lausanne or Geneva, it has so much to offer, and is much more friendly than the big cities. It is a quaint town in the most marvellous setting, with a fabulous old part of town.

    The city has a very nice vibe, with beautiful architecture and nice walk way next to the lake. The swimming area was very clean and tidy, with a lot of place to rest. Since I was there during the weekend shops were closed, but they have great diverse offer.

    We had an incredible stay at Base Vevey and loved everything about it. The staff was friendly, the location was excellent, and it was close to everything. The hotel offers great amenities like bike rentals, a free public transport pass, a roof terrace, and more. Our room was a decent size, clean, and equipped with everything we needed. We highly recommend this place!

    basic hotel, but perfect for a night after a long hike along the lake or when you just visit Vevey. there is even a small restaurant/bar in the base floor (have not tried that one). room was very small (you could hardly walk around the bed), but had all you needed. proximity to showers and toilets was absolutely ok and services were good.
