Our experience was amazing! It was wonderful to be greeted by the owners and taken care of by the staff. The location is superb, the rooms are modern and well-equipped. The view is just stunning, overlooking the mountains and the village. It was a nice bonus to take a cable care ride for free and enjoy the views from above. The spa offered a great variety and a relaxing jacuzzi. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious with great service.

A beautiful family-run hotel in a magnificent part of Switzerland. The views along the Goms valley were outstanding. My room had a view along the length of the valley to the mountains around the Furka Pass. I was given an upgrade to a larger corner room which was extremely comfortable with a king-size bed, desk and sofa. The couple who own the hotel gave me a lift from the station on arrival and back to the station on departure. Breakfast was very good with an outstanding selection of different bread. Ham and/or salami was for you to slice yourself on a traditional machine. Excellent coffee. One real novelty was a multi-purpose tap on the landing providing chilled, sparkling and boiling water.

It should be mentioned that the Hotel is in the middle of a typical narrow Village in Wallis and that there is no Parking right beside or in front of the house. On the other hand this makes it special and lets you get the feeling of the place.

We chose this area because it's located between Lauterbrunnen and Zermatt. The drive through the mountains is a bit long, but the views are well worth it. The setting invites you to relax with a cup of coffee on a wooden bench and spend hours admiring the scenery. Oh! They even have binoculars for viewing the mountains and wildlife.

Niederwald is an ideal starting point for cross-country...

Niederwald is an ideal starting point for cross-country skiers. You can take the train to Oberwald and ski 20 km back along the Rhône. Niederwald is the birthplace of hotelier César Ritz. There is a small museum worth visiting in the train station.

A very, very pretty village where history is everywhere, with plenty of surprising details in its chalets and hidden corners, not to mention the shadow of César Ritz with his incredible career (the museum is well worth a visit) and the walks in the surrounding area.

A venerable Valais village in the beautiful Goms region, located at the end of the cross-country ski trail. It boasts a highly recommended restaurant, a repurposed train station (now housing a museum, bistro, and facilities for cross-country skiers), and good public transport connections, but no shops. However, shopping can be arranged.

Quaint hotel in the Rhone valley which is situated in a good place to discover all that mother nature (and the Swiss) have to offer in the area. By car, foot or train. Very friendly owners with a passion for their job. The Hotel is comfortable and cozy with good facilities. The restaurant is superb with many locals frequenting it (which is always a good sign). The little village of Niederwald is like a fairytale village and very quiet. We loved it.
