This really is a nice apartment. The owner lives on site. Underground secure parking. Very close to train station. So glad we picked this for our stay. The owner was so welcoming and left us some local cheese and meats etc.

Good touristic opportunities in walking distance, like the waterfall, Aare gorge, cable car to go to a village with very nice view of the mountains and a place to drink a coffee, even on Sunday. In town you can have a coffee only in restaurants on Sunday, or in a kind of bar which did not give me a good impression.

Only had a brief overnight stay but found that almost all the shops shut in the middle of Saturday afternoon and are closed on Sundays. Nothing against that, but it’s not ideal for a walking holiday. And the church bell tolls every 15 minutes, all night!

Meiringen is a wonderful place for mountain enthusiasts.

Meiringen is a wonderful place for mountain enthusiasts. It is not nearly as touristic as the nearby Interlaken and offers the chance to enjoy nature including Reichenbach falls, glaciers and the Aare Gorge cozily. A perfect escape location with a real Swiss spirit.

It was a lovely town unfortunately due to the Covid restrictions most shops were close. However Meiringen is centrally located to Interlaken, Lucern, Grimmewald. All within driving distance. Will visit again in summer , hopefully the covid restrictions are no longer there

We liked the eclectic style and grandeur of the Parkhotel - 1900 Belle Epoque - set in neat grounds in the centre of Meiringen, 5 mins from ther station. Our rooms were spacious and clean, with lovely views towards the Reichenbach Falls (illuminated at night). Reception friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent (as you would expect in Switzerland), with little meringues also provided (in homage to the home of the meringue). Beautiful flowers in the stunning breakfast room.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had some problems with the booking.com due to credit card and even after booking.com cancelled our booking, the hotel was able to help us secure back the same booking. My daughter lost a doll in the room and they mail it back to us. Top notch service. Location is very near the gondola as well (less than 10minutes way away) . Decent breakfast as well with hot food, yogurt, cereals and the usual bread and crossiants, etc.

Such a wonderful hotel. Gorgeous rooms, delicious food, and the owner (Simon) was so friendly and kindly helped my husband and I set up our ski touring equipment in his downstairs workshop and even gave us tips on ski touring because he is an incredible athlete! We so appreciated all the attention to detail at his fabulous hotel - highly recommend.

Ideally located on one of the main streets,Hotel Rebstock is a short walk to all of Meiringen’s facilities & attractions. There was secure bike storage for my precious steed. Although a little dated,the room was clean,and the bed was comfortable.
