Grindelwald is like a Swiss Fairytale.
Grindelwald is like a Swiss Fairytale. All the wonderful Swiss Chalets, the incomparable alps, the charming Swiss people. Grindelwald is definitely a tourist town with shops selling all the Swiss trinkets, but that's part of the charm. An authentic, discrete luxurious mountain village which beats many others we have visited, skied and hiked over the years. Unique in its´location, dramatic mountain views everywhere, variety of walks and activities including summer glacier hikes, caves and sport/spa facilities with excellent dining after activities. It looks like heaven...so beautiful, but stay out of the main village for accommodations. Shop at the small local shops on the fringe. Grindelwald is a beautiful town, we found people at restaurants and other site seeing places very helpful & soft spoken. we had visited Grindelwald from 7th - 11th August 2025, morning & evening were pleasant & day time it was sunny. Lovely town with a lot of activities.
Lovely town with a lot of activities. It can be a bit pricey but you can hike for free to your heart's content. A lot of people are paragliding, it was nice to see and it actually makes you want to try it too. Maybe next time!Guest review byHimitsuFrance
