    This is an absolutely precious town. Very quaint and cozy away from the city. You can walk all over the whole town admiring the traditional homes. Very quiet and laid back. No hustle and bustle of city life. This is the place to go if you want to get away and relax at a quiet slow pace.

    The scenic and cultural and historical attractions inn this very tourist-friendly area of Switzerland were very much to my liking. These include the accommodations, the local people, the local foods, the cafes and restaurants, the museums, the agricultural countryside, the train and public car transportion systems and the mountain trails and cable cars.

    It was the perfect location with beautiful views in every direction. It was the perfect place to end our last 2 days in Switzerland. Staff was very friendly and personable. The morning we left, we needed to leave before the regular breakfast time, but the chef got up early to prepare a very nice breakfast. The room was large, well decorated, had a huge bathroom, and our own personal balcony! Would highly recomend this place as by far, the best of the 9 places we stayed during our two weeks in Switzerland!!

    Pleasant place to visit and probably also to live in. Nice historical town center, wonderful views on surrounding mountains. I did not have time to make hiking trip unfortunately. Plenty of restaurants, we choose the restaurant of Hotel Santis and were satisfied.

    Avoid any hotel in or near the centre: the church bells ring...

    Avoid any hotel in or near the centre: the church bells ring loudly every 15 minutes right through the night, so it's impossible to sleep well! The shops really cater for tourists, so although there are interesting products it's extremely pricey. The best is the hiking around Appenzell - lovely scenery.

    Super comfortable location, Monica was great in taking care of everyone. Breakfast is amazing with a wide choice of salty and sweet, fresh bread every day. The atmosphere is very familiar. Just 2 minutes from the train station - great if you stay here to hike around. But also, 7min walking distance to the city center. Lovely stay, very quite despite the closeness to the train station (you don't hear a thing). Comfy bed while the pillow is the classic huge and structureless that hotels love so much.

    I had a fantastic stay at this apartment in Appenzell. Everything about it was perfect – the space was incredibly warm and cozy, and it had all the essentials I could possibly need. The owners were very nice and responsive and went above and beyond to be helpful throughout my stay. The location was ideal, with beautiful views and easy access to local attractions. It truly exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-equipped place to stay!"

    The owner(Robert) came to pick us up from the train station and he is very friendly. Hotel is near to the Appenzell train station(600m) We got an early check-in and late check-out. Delicious breakfast buffet. Spacious bathroom with a bath tub. Large balcony with a beatifull city view.

    Location was perfect and quiet. Staff are lovely. Eat at the restaurant if you have a chance it’s excellent. We had one breakfast across the square the day the hotel/restaurant was closed. It was amazing as well.
