The locals are very friendly and are happy to make suggestions. It was lovely to see lots of Indigenous people. The architecture, parks and all the street lighting and Christmas light displays were great. The restaurants and food were terrific! My favourite pho, suggested by a local, was Pho Binh Minh 819 Sargent Ave. The Earls downtown was great - wonderful service and delicious food. I love the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Shopping at Anishinaabe Girl Designs was awesome! I also loved Teekca's Atawekamik, an Indigenous store at St. Vital Centre, 113-1225 St Mary's Rd Winnipeg. The young man serving there was so kind and helpful. They had everything in great supply.

It has small town feel— it reminds me of downtown Indianapolis back in the early 2000s. It’s quiet but there are things to do and visit. I recommend Winnipeg for a slower pace and a small city feel. It’s not overwhelming and relatively easy to navigate around.

The Museum of Human Rights is amazing.

The Museum of Human Rights is amazing. The zoo put on its best for us with the polar bears giving us quite a show and the seals mesmerizing us. The Forks has a lot to offer - food, shops, antiques, river views, etc. The buses were very convenient and affordable - even to the airport! What a treat to be in a place that does not put a premium on bus service to the airport! Yay Winnipeg!

We only had one full day in Winnipeg, so there is much more of this welcoming city to see. We spent most of our time in the Forks area. We visited the Human Rights Museum. Very emotional, but we appreciate admitting to past mistakes and working to correct them instead of pretending they were never made. It was a beautiful July day. Other than the museum we spent the entire time outdoors. Everyone we met was friendly.

For some of the places I had hoped to visit, one needs a car. I did not rent a car and the private hire cars like Uber and Lyft did not go to one of the places I had hoped to visit. There were no tours to that place available. So I suggest that if you are travelling in by plane or train, that you rent a car for the places further out from Winnipeg.

Literally across the road from the Air Canada Centre, so it's a great place to stay if you're there for a game. It's really spacious and well equipped and had a great view out across Winnipeg from the balcony. Didn't need to use it but it has parking available which is needed in the area. Nice bathroom with a hot shower and great water pressure. It's really quite a nice apartment and was quite a comfortable stay with an easy check-in process.

Easy walk to VIA Winnipeg station and the downtown area. Nearby bus stops to get to and from the airport cheap and easily. Handy laundry facilities and secure bag storage area. Staff at front desk are friendly but seem a little unsure of themselves. Nice dove amenities provided in bathroom. Comfy bed. Lots of power plugs plus good coffee machine and fridge available in room.

The Radisson Hotel Winnipeg Downtown was a great location for our 4 days in Winnipeg. We walked everywhere and everything we wanted to see were within 15-20 walking. The hotel is quiet with very helpful staff. They have washing/drying facilities which is great for us travelling with a 10kg bag!
