By day, view the falls from the riverfront promenade, or for an up-close-and-personal experience, the Hornblower Niagara Cruise takes you right into the swell. Rain ponchos are provided. Alternatively, there’s the Journey Behind the Falls – a walk through the rock behind Niagara. Handy portholes help you to experience the thundering water.
Slightly downstream are the American Falls, less well-known and less impressive, but worth a look. At night, both falls get illuminated by coloured lights – an incredible sight. Further downstream is the Rainbow Bridge which you can walk across to get an American stamp in your passport. Just check your visa requirements first.
The city itself has 7 golf courses – one is close to the river, so be careful with your swing! Other Niagara Falls attractions include casinos, cinemas and Marineland Canada, featuring the world's largest whale habitat for viewing orcas both above ground and below.

Stayed at Niagara Falls at least 10 times. Great for a change. Used to stay 2-3 nights. Now going for only 1 night. Live within 2 hour drive from Niagara Falls. Newest kid on the Block, " Niagara takes flight.". 3D movie with sensation of moving across the Niagara region. Amazingly well done. A bit pricey -- $32.75 -- for a 10 minute movie. What a special and magnificent place!
What a special and magnificent place! The falls are unbelievable. We went Behind the Falls and we were so glad we did that - much better than taking a boat. Enjoyed dinner with drinks at the Table Rock Bistro and Wine Bar, overlooking the falls. Enjoyed desserts and drinks on the 26th floor of the Tower Hotel at Fallsview, also overlooking the falls. Plenty to do, international feel. A little pricey, and a bit touristy, but it is all to be expected when visiting the 8th "wonder of the world". I think what I would of liked to be aware of was the cost of parking. You pay to park everywhere you go. The overnight parking at the hotel was $35 but right across the street one block down parking was $20 for overnight. The falls did not disappoint, the Canadian side of the falls were gorgeous. The tour behind the falls and the observation decks were a great experience! I would recommend the Skylon tower, behind the falls tour and the boat ride by the falls! This hotel is 1 block from the fun zone and less than a 10 minute walk to the water front. There are at least a dozen places to eat within a few hundred yards, either sit down or fast food.
