GFW is a useful stopping point when crossing the island, we were reasonably lucky with the weather, if it had been raining we would of struggled to fill the days. as with much of NL I would pass by if we had not previously read the reviews, we found good pizza at Leftys and also an Indian near the malls

The Salmonid Interpretation Center was worth the visit.
The Salmonid Interpretation Center was worth the visit. Guide, Leon, "made" the visit; his fascinating description of salmon habits and types of "jumpers" going up the salmon ladder, inspired us to go down and watch the salmon ladder in action with a number of salmon jumping. The restaurant was decent and the entire center was well kept. There wasn't a lot of signage because they were undergoing some sort of renovations, but Leon made up for that.

Grand falls Windsor doesn’t have alot to do if you visit the town. It has everything you need in stores, but as far attractions l, not much. We did go to the park down by the water and sat on the dock with the ducks. This was nice. I don’t think I would recommend this town for things to do.

We were given a main floor room as requested.
We were given a main floor room as requested. The room was a generous size. The bathroom was adequate. Breakfast was included. It was not fancy but there was plenty of choice. My husband said the coffee was good.
We asked the owner for a recommendation for a place for dinner. He sent us to the Juniper restaurant not far away. Glad we went. The food was excellent.
Parking is also available.

I'm from St. John's, Newfoundland.
I'm from St. John's, Newfoundland. There is literally not much to do in Grand Falls. There's a trail around a pond I never checked out but that's it.
I wanted to eat somewhere other than Macdonald's or Jungle Jim's but sadly there was nothing else open. Surprisingly because it was Father's day. I did find a Chinese place. Great if you like huge portions and lots of salt in your food. It was not my cup of tea but it was blocked so others love it.
I stayed in Grand Falls one night because I booked a white water rafting trip the next morning just 10 minutes outside of Grand Falls. Now that's definitely worth booking! It was an amazing 4 hours on the Exploits River! Check out Rafting Newfoundland for details. It was worth every penny! They also have chalets to stay in overlooking the river. I would have stayed there if I was staying more than 24 hours.

Dont judge the building by the outside. When going from the outside of the building into the lobby and our room was a pleasant surprise. Hidden gem, updated rooms, clean and pleasant staff were all a great addition to our stay. Signage could be better to indicate Riverside Hotel. Otherwise 10 out of 10!

We have stayed here before and when we go to Grand Falls-Windsor, we always go back to this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are always so clean and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is extremely clean. The continental breakfast is very good.

It was clean it was very nice cottage feel. Well still staying apart of a hotel! My fiancé loved the property. It was her favourite spot we stayed so far as we are traveling through all of newfoundland!!
