🌟 Review for Sarah’s Dream House – Churchill, Manitoba
Sarah’s Dream House is exactly what the name promises — a dream come true! ✨ Every wish is met with warmth and care. The location is perfect — close to everything in town — and the breakfasts are fantastic. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and cozy, and the host goes above and beyond to make sure your stay in Churchill is truly magical.
The house has five guest rooms, a welcoming central living room, and a shared kitchen — a wonderful setup that brings travelers together. One of the best parts of staying here was meeting the other guests. We shared meals, photos, stories, tours, and even a car! Everyone was so friendly, and we’ve all become lifelong friends.
The owner, Taylor, is truly special — he even rented us his car for a day and gave us rides to and from the airport and train station. Everyone in town knows and loves him, and it’s easy to see why.
If you’re looking for a place that feels like home and where connections are made as easily as memories — Sarah’s Dream House is the perfect place to stay in Churchill. 🐻❄️

The town was about as friendly and helpful as one could possibly imagine. Along with our wildlife tour and night to see the northern lights, it was fun to frequent the restaurants (even ate at the hospital once and the food was great!). We also visited a robust community center and played air hockey, bowled and could have done even more of the activities if we had the time! Everyone we encountered was just delightful and helpful!

What a treasure of a town on the edge of the boreal forest...
What a treasure of a town on the edge of the boreal forest and the Canadian Tundra. We received a warm welcome from natives and imports who all worked together to make our stay memorable. This is the perfect adventure for solo female travellers - a very small and safe town with unique sights and adventures. With weather appropriate clothing you can be out and about every day. Dress in layers and be prepared for heat, or cold winds, rain or sun - all in one day!! The food at most of the restaurants exceeded our expectations. We had dinner at a different place for days....special shout out to the Tundra Pub!

Loved the Northern Lights and the Churchill murals on buildings all over town.
Tours we did take were excellent and well described.
We were there in the wrong season for polar bears, Northern Lights were excellent.
Take the time to visit the museums in town, they show great history of Churchill.
Go for a walk around town. Be prepared for a small town atmosphere and very friendly people.

We went to see the polar bears (which we saw!)
We went to see the polar bears (which we saw!) and the northern lights (which we didn't see). We did a full day polar bear tour (not on a tundra buggy) and a half day City tour. We enjoyed both but really appreciated the City tour which taught us more about the community (very small, very north, very cold, very windy). We also visited the eskimo museum (which we had more time there) and walked around and got pictures of most of the murals. There is an ATM in town and the post office will give you an (ink) stamp in your passport. We bought some locally made jam - both with berries we had never heard of before. A really wonderful, memory making trip!) We'd love to return to see the beluga whales.

The people of Churchill are what make this town amazing.
The people of Churchill are what make this town amazing. I thought it would be to see the polar bears or northern lights. But getting to know the people made the trip. We went on 3 tours. Blue Sky Sled & Bed, and a couple other Polar Bear tours. They were all amazing. Great guides. We also visited the Anglican Church for Sunday service. They were very welcoming and we got to meet some more locals. This was definitely a bucket list trip. And it was beyond my wildest expectations.

This is a good-value guesthouse/hostel (shared with the owners' family), aimed partially at Chinese tourists. The proprietor, Sarah, is SUPER nice, and the room and common areas are very clean. There's a nice porch area for viewing the aurora. Everything in Churchill is really close together, so it doesn't really matter that this property is a bit far away (and it's close to the Lazy Bear Lodge, which does amazing food). Also, I highly recommend the owners' food truck!

We like the proximity to the station, restaurants and other attractions in Churchill.
Bill was wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating. He had our room ready when we arrived early in the morning off the train. He let us stay until we departed for the train station two days later.
Bill toured us to the more remote attractions around Churchill.
Bed was so comfy. The shower had great water pressure.
The hotel offers a pick up and drop off at the airport too which was helpful.
Location of the hotel is fantastic, lots of places to eat nearby.

This is a warm and comfortable residence in Churchill, the capital of the White Bears. It feels convenient and safe, and we are very grateful for the host's hospitality.
