Even the best review will not do justice to the care and dedication with which the owners run this b&b. The place is absolutely spotless, rooms are spacious and comfortable, the atmosphere is always relaxed and the area around is very quiet. Cris prepares lovely and delicious breakfast every morning and on top of it always finds the time to answer guests' questions about planning, routes, weather, the waterfalls and whatever else comes to mind. The location of the b&b is great for exploring Brazilian and Argentinian side of the falls, Itaipu dam and downtown Foz but it will make life easier to have a car or get an uber (never waited longer than a few minutes).

Brazilian Gateway to the Iguaçu Falls

One of the most popular touristic destinations in Brazil, Foz do Iguaçu is located on the Brazilian side of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Iguaçu Falls. Lying on the triple frontier between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, it also offers the Parque das Aves (Birds Park), the Itaipú Dam, and access to cheap shopping in the Paraguayan tax-free city of Ciudad del Este.

The word Iguaçu derives from the native Guaraní language, meaning “big water”. The spectacular falls are part of the natural frontier between Argentina and Brazil, and comprise 275 individual falls spread over 3 km in both countries, with a maximum height of 80 metres. Its water flow can be three times that of the Niagara.

Starting as a small village, Foz grew thanks to the flow of tourists, the construction of the bridges linking to Paraguay and Argentina, and the works on the Itaipú Dam and Hydroelectric Plant. Some of the best hotels in Foz do Iguaçu are located along the road linking to the national park. Nonetheless, most Foz do Iguaçu hotels are located in and around the central area.

Iguacu Falls National Park has the greatest, most majestic, most amazing, most awesome waterfalls in the world. 285 waterfalls over 1 kilometer along border between Brazil and Argentina. Highly recommend taking Macuco Boat Safari which takes you below waterfalls and walking full length of trail on Brazil side. Buy tickets for Macuco Boat Safari at park entrance after buying park tickets. Also highly recommend, on second day, seeing bird park (Parque de Aves) located near entrance to Iguacu Falls National Park, which has an wonderful collection of beautiful tropical birds and amazingly beautiful tropical plants and flowers.

The most spectacular sight we have ever seen.

The most spectacular sight we have ever seen. Unmissable even in torrential rain! We would highly recommend viewing the falls from both the Brazilian side and from Argentina. The boat trip up to the falls was excellent too.

Definitely a trip to keep on your Brazil itinerary. We spent almost 2 days on our visit with the first day visiting the Argentinian side. The second day we did the Brazil side with a visit to the Bird Sanctuary but due to timing missed the opportunity to do a boat trip up to the falls.

An incredible visit to the Falls on both the Brazil and Argentinian sides. It is recommended to visit both sides in 2 days. The area can get extremely crowded, sometime feeling like Disneyland. But without the additional extra fees. Worth a visit.

Great place to visit for shopping in Paraguay. Wining and dining both in Brazil and Argentina and of course the Waterfalls and Itaipu hydroelectric dam are the basics, but there is a lot more. Unfortunately we had only three days to spend there.

3 days to see both sides of the waterfalls and to enjoy the regions other attractions is a little short. Especially with the wait times to cross the border. We did 4 border crossings in 3 days and it was painful. It consumed too much time. To see both sides of the waterfalls and to do one or two other activities and give enough time to relax and enjoy a resort/hotel you really need at least 4 days. Lastly, prepare for crowds or people at the Falls and very long wait times everywhere. Also careful with the parks guides. They're sales people for the tours and will lie to sell you a ticket.

This is a great little hostel for sleeping if enjoying the sights during the day. We just needed a place to crash for the night and this hostel met that need. It is only a short walk to the Parque das Aves, Hélisul (helicopter ride), and the Foz do Iguaçu entrance. Also, from the main road, you can catch an Uber or the local bus. The hostel staff is very friendly and will answer all your questions and help you plan your stay - they were fantastic and very helpful!

Location is great, and the hotel provides all the information for the tours, which comes very handy (particularly if you don't have a car). It's also walking distance to a couple of tourist attractions, such as the Parque das Aves e Parque Nacional do Iguaçu. The premises of the hotel are very large, with a cafe, restaurant, souvenir shop, pools and so on. Breakfast had many options and the food was tasty. Dinning was also pleasant there and at a good price.
