FAQs about hotels in Bruges

Picture Postcard Perfect

Bruges is a picture perfect medieval city that will charm you with its distinctive, century-old houses, plentiful canals and city walls. The famous 13th-century Belfry offers the opportunity to watch the cobbled market place, the Grote Markt, below while 47 bells call out to the city every 15-minutes. While you’re in the Grote Markt you can take a ride in one of the horse-drawn carriages around the city.

Many interesting artefacts can be found in the churches of Bruges, a Michelangelo statue is housed in the Church of Our Lady and the Basilica of the Holy Blood contains a vial of blood reportedly from Jesus Christ. Other museums include the Groeninge Museum which includes works of art spanning 6 centuries.

Belgium cuisine is famous worldwide and the cafes of Bruges offer an inviting retreat from the cooler climate. Brewery De Halve Maan explains the process behind the beer which washes down the world-class fries, chocolate and mussels found all over the city.

Bruges is easily reached from the Brussel-Zuid train station or the Brussels Airport. From a romantic suite to an apartment for a group of friends, Booking.com will make sure your stay in Bruges is a memorable one.

Beautiful medieval city unique with picturesque canals.

Beautiful medieval city unique with picturesque canals. Great food and hospitality and if you like beer and chocolate this is your place! Easy to walk everywhere and great museums and boat rides, the bell tower in main square worth the climb, the Gruuthusemuseum was a very fine example of a wealthy man’s house, the townhall has incredible murals, the Groeningemuseum museum has incredible Flemish masters paintings. The Historium museum on main square has great tour with virtual reality headset storey of history of medieval merchant Bruges, and a great storey tour involving a journey and adventure of two lovers inspired by a famous Flemish painting.

Bruges is a great canal village, beautifully maintained, and scenic with lots of interesting history. The people are very friendly and welcoming. Food is exceptionally good, and the chocolates/waffles/hot chips are very good.

Our self tour was 3 nights Bruges, 2 nights Brussels.

Our self tour was 3 nights Bruges, 2 nights Brussels. We packed in Antwerp, Ghent and Ypres (if interested in WW1 - tour operators such as Quasimodo). Use the train service - so easy and much better than UK. Bruges is stunning. Several museums are closed on Mondays. Think about buying a Musea Brugge Card €33.

Bruges is stunning, everything can be seen either on foot or by river boat which was a great 30mins to spend seeing the city from a different view point, reasonably priced for a popular destination, great shops and food choices, the only thing they do not eat late at night so most restaurants are closed down by 10pm.If you are looking for a great city break look no further than Bruges.

Bruges was one of the highlights of our trip to Europe.

Bruges was one of the highlights of our trip to Europe. Communication for English speakers is easy because everyone appears to speak English as well as other languages. The old town is spotless and well preserved and the Bruges card for multiple museum entry is good value. Restaurants are on the expensive side for the Aussie dollar but the staff make up for that with their friendly approach. We hired an e-bike and rode to the Netherlands for a day trip! Bruges lives up to the photos!

The rooms were decorated impeccably and the hotel bar had a great selection of drinks with a gorgeous Art Deco sitting room. The staff were friendly and attentive. They provided some great advice on how to get the most from our time in Bruges. The location of the hotel is superb. Right next everything in the city centre while being just enough off of the main roads that it provides a tranquil space to pause before heading back out. The elegant Christmas decorations were the icing on top.

The Notary is hands down the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The service was absolutely top-notch. The staff is so friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and immaculately clean, with so many thoughtful touches. The whole hotel is stunning and full of character. The garden is a peaceful oasis and the perfect place to relax after exploring Bruges. Everything about my stay was perfect. I’ll definitely be back!

In the center of the town, overlooking Bruges Market Square, with stunning views of the famous Belfry and all the other magnificent buildings, it’s simply the top spot to stay. Easy access from the railway station and to all the sights. Rooms are quiet, clean, spacious and well equipped. The Hotel stuff very polite, helpful, friendly and very professional. Breakfast is complete and of good quality. Tip: The Best cappuccino coffee cream ever!

The Hotel is very beautiful, especially the breakfast garden area. The location is quiet yet close to the center. The rooms are nice, not large, but have a nice bathroom and a large shower... excellent mattress. The price/quality ratio is perfect. The staff is super friendly, and the breakfast is plentiful and high-quality. I highly recommend this hotel in Bruges.

Location - short walk to all Bruges has to offer. The old town is best done on foot or bicycle. Reasonable parking at t’zand - 5 min walk from hotel - ( if they don’t have any vacant spaces - rather limited)
