Two very intetsting shops in the main street, Flywheel and the art sjop and Miss Arthur aroundcthe corner and also the cafe/book shop.
The Star and Garter Hotel was very friendly, recommend a visit across from Arthur Park.
Plenty of shopping facilities but not a lot to do, as some of the hot spots were closed!

It’s a good stopover point if you’re travelling from the west coast towards Hobart. Once you’ve had a restful night, you can check out the local farmers market ( Saturday) or check out the cafes and bakeries for before making your onward journey

We enjoyed a good meal at the Bush Inn pub which was a stroll from the property .It's claim to fame is it's Australia's oldest continuously operating licensed hotel, established in 1815.
There is a bit of history around New Norfolk and a pleasant river walk.

New Norfolk has some very quirky shops, antique shops and lovely cafes. A good point for day trips to Russell Falls and the Salmon Ponds.
The town is easy to get around, with plenty of parking behind the shops.

The down side was that it was not harvest season for fruit and berries. But the vistas were a delight in this productive farming and orchard area with rolling hills and rippling rivers. It is not far to Mt Field National Park for rainforest walks. The closest easy walk to Russell Falls was a delightful as there was a good drop and plenty of water.

New Norfolk is held in very high regard to me.
New Norfolk is held in very high regard to me. I spent 12 years of growing up there.
It is very scenic and beautiful. Plenty of eateries and places of interest. Walks up and down the river are gems if you find them.
Antiques and wonderful homeware stores bring an element of excitement to me.
Recently discovery of DV arts group is a real bonus!

We had an amazing stay at Explorer’s, the lodge is picture perfect! The room was lovely and incredibly comfortable, every little detail was thought of, and it’s only a short walk to the town centre - and an easy day trip to Hobart or Mt Field National Park. Make sure to stay in for breakfast, it was a highlight! Michael was a wonderful host, highly highly recommend staying here if you’re in or around New Norfolk.

Enjoyed our stay in the 1835 Old Colony Inn. Penelope was there to meet us and show us around the building. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cosy.
Penelope served us a delightful breakfast. Would stay here again if in New Norfolk.
The location is great with beautiful views over the Derwent River. The hotel has a lot of history with many original features, and was probably once to a 5-star standard.
