We loved the friendly people. We loved the experience of being away from busy towns. We dined at the RSL and the hotels and the food was good. We used Golden West Tours to travel to the Darr River Homestead which was an excellent experience. They also took us on a day trip to Muttaburra also excellent. This tour company is absolutely brilliant. We had a fun filled friendly very informative time.

I visited the QANTAS musem very briefly, and plan to return and see the full tour as well as the Stockman's Hall of Fame on my way back through as I was travelling through Longreach to Mount Isa, but I highly recommend a visit out there to one and all. And I have sooo mannny places to see and explore. It's a fabulous place to explore and the weather is so beautifully warm and sunny, what's not to love?

Has been a bucket list place to visit for some time for me and did not disappoint. Stockmans Hall of Fame was brilliant and very much enjoyed my visit to the QANTAS museum. Can also recommend the boat cruise on the Thomson River.

Very peaceful place, locals were exceptionally friendly & helpful. Great place to explore. Plenty of dining options. River cruise was highlight of our visit. Dinner at the Birdcage & lunch at Longreach Tavern.

Longreach was excellent and both the Hall of Fame and the Founders Museum exceeded expectations and I would highly recommend them. Sunset on the Thompson was a great experience, meals were perfectly adequate and the coffee shop great.

Stockmans Hall of Fame next door was great, will have to come back to see it properly. We spent half a day there. Difficult if not impossible to buy a cooked meal anywhere after 830 pm. This is not a huge issue, it's just a matter of awareness & adjusting your personal plans to accommodate it. Birdcage was very good for a meal. People everywhere are very friendly, helpful & obliging; typical bush hospitality.
