We booked a queen room only the day before.
We booked a queen room only the day before. Check in was at 3pm. We were booked into yellow boats for sunset cruise at 4.30pm which was a 40 minute drive. Requested to get room at 2pm , our queen room was not ready but they offered us 2 doubles. Which we gladly took. Beds awesome. Had a swim in there awesome pool. I had read you must book for the restaurant and this is true. We didn't get back from cruise until 7.45pm as roadworks and husband was pulled over by police random breath test. Thankfully we had booked restaurant as we seen people arriving after 8pm and being turned away. No other food out there really to randomly get. Wish we booked 2 nights one is not enough. Need 4wd to access any look outs ect.

Go to Yellow Water Billalong, Ubirr and Nourlangie and definitely visit the waterfalls while you are here. If you don't have a 4WD, book an all day tour and they can take you.
We are dinner at the Mercure restaurant.
We had breakfast in Jabiru township.

This is a very small spot in the middle of the jungle. Little market provides some basis food and clothes but one should not rely on it for its supplies. Good place to stop while visiting Kakadu park. Well positioned to visit all sites. Walking distance to Bowali visitors center.

Jabiru is a small town in the heart of Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory. It’s a perfect base for exploring the park’s stunning landscapes, Aboriginal rock art, and diverse wildlife. Highlights include Nourlangie Rock, Yellow Water Billabong cruises, and scenic flights over Kakadu. The Bowali Visitor Centre offers great cultural and ecological insights.
Accommodation ranges from eco-lodges to resorts, and local eateries serve simple but hearty meals. Best visited during the dry season (May–October) for easier access and cooler weather.

Great location for Kakadu. Close enough to most things.
Great location for Kakadu. Close enough to most things. Ate at the Lodge and Mimi’s all our meals were excellent.
Loved the self-guided sunset hike and ancient Aboriginal art at Ubirr.
The river cruises were excellent.

Great location in Jabiru. Pool was large & great grassy area. Bar & bistro by pool were lovely.
We had a family cabin for 3 teens & 2 adults. Bunk, trundle & queen made it very cosy but we didn’t spend a lot of time inside. Bbq was great. Very clean cabin. Good shower!
The food at the restaurant exceeded our expectations and the hotel was clean, quiet and very comfortable. It was lovely to return for a colling swim in the pool after our walks. The staff were really lovely and very friendly.
