The location on the hill ensured fabulous views from the covered deck of the Cooktown harbour and river all day long. It was very relaxing sitting in this area watching the sunsets. Only shared with one other double unit.

This place is The Heaven. All my travels around the world I have never had such a pleasant surprise. The pictures do not give back the cleanliness and charm of the place. Everything was tip-top! Ease of communication:100% I got detailed email and text message. Super easy. Immediate answer on my questions. Equipment: this place has everything! Really, whatever you need it has it. Just one thing: all around Aus this was the first place where they provided a plug converter. In Cooktown. Cmon guys you must admit they put in their hearts into this place! Location: center of the small town, easy to find. And a heavy commendation: taste! This place is so tasteful, well-thought off and decorated. Simple yet elegant. I never met the owners but it would be a privilege to meet ppl who provide this care and attention. Thank you very much!

122 on Charlotte aka The Old Bank is a wonderful base to explore the Cooktown region and part of the history of the town. The large bed in our room could have kept us in it all day it was so comfortable and Tania made sure we had everything we needed and more for a relaxed and cruisy New Years break. With so many spots to explore and such delightful and historic accomodation we aim to be back as soon as possible!

It is a very nice small town with lots of places to visit nearby. A four-wheel drive would be a better option to reach some locations, like Elim Beach with its coloured sands. The esplanade is amazing both at sunrise and sunset. Botanical Garden and Grassy Hill are other places to visit.

My advice would be to hire a car in Cairns and drive the 3.5...

My advice would be to hire a car in Cairns and drive the 3.5 hours to Cooktown. We walked, but were restricted by the town limits. Within a 75km radius of Cooktown you are able to access 'the bigger picture' of Cooktown.

Very nice place museum was overpriced for a bit of captain cook info and the damn wind never stops but nice lunch at lawn bowls club in main street was very easy nice and tasty. Plenty of things to see all on main street so easy parking and walking track along waters edge. Waterpark and Music ship for the younger ones or ones that want to be young again.

Super friendly staff. My children played with the children of the management. Not all rooms have a kitchen, but the family rooms do. They are located in the corner, which gives you more privacy than the other rooms surrounding the pool. The pool is clean. Mattresses are comfortable. Cooktown is small, so any location is good. There's a supermarket within walking distance.

We had a really good couple of nights in Cooktown. The stay staff were friendly and accommodating. Our cabin was nice, clean and comfortable, it looked dark on the photos, but was really nice in reality, we would defo stay there again.
