Great example of a western districts country town.

Great example of a western districts country town. All the facilities you need are there. The nearby walk up the volcanic hills were great (we saw a koala). Great central location to explore the region.

The Botanic Gardens are small but oh so beautiful.

The Botanic Gardens are small but oh so beautiful. It was so fascinating to learn more about the volcanic past of this area. We loved wandering the streets and looking at the architectural features and unique landscape surrounding the town. Friendly locals and old fashioned country manners. We drove out to other areas to explore more, just amazing! Loved everything about our weekend stay.

We loved the tour of the Clock Tower, the view from Mt Leura for sunset and the Lakes around the area. The Hampden Hotel was a great place to eat with a good variety on the menu - booking essential. The Lake Edge Cafe was the perfect place for lunch with a serene outlook and delicious meals. The Botanical Gardens were beautiful and peaceful overlooking the lakes and town.

Camperdown is a lovely town with lakes and gardens and historical sites such as the ClockTower. People are friendly. There is plenty of cafe's and shops with two main supermarkets. It is a good place to stay and drive to the great ocean road.

Although I had aimed to stay 2 nights, could only stay 1.

Although I had aimed to stay 2 nights, could only stay 1. Camperdown itself is a town with a 2 klm avenue. It has some beautiful historic buildings and the towns history is worth researching. Not far from Camperdown you have Lake Edge Cafe at Tesbury on the Purrumbete Estate. On leaving Camperdown on my way to my next destination on a very wintry day, I visited and was greeted with a very warm welcome by all the ladies working there. The coffee was excellent along with the view across the lake. On my next visit I will be sure to return, not just for coffee, but for lunch.

It was just so nice.

It was just so nice. Lots of great buildings to photograph or just admire. The Visitor Information Centre was great and there were plenty of choices for breakfast/brunch, though I probably would avoid the The Loaf and Lounge. Sign out front should have told me. It said "Be nice or leave" which to me is a bit off, especially when you walk in the place and it isn't super busy and the staff seem to be waiting for someone to be nasty. There were other places that were doing a roaring trade and obviously don't have an issue with the clientele.

The room was fitted out well, plenty of space and a comfortable bed. Bathroom and kitchenette facility fresh and clean. We only stayed one night but the lawn space was attractive for persons staying longer. We ate an evening meal at Hampden Hotel a short distance from the motel. It was busy that night but the meal was good. Car park outside the Motel door and convenient.

Absolutely beautiful. Loved everything about the Camperdown Mill. Fantastic place to stay, nice and cosy and loved having a spa each night. Close to town so we were able to walk around. The lady who was cleaning there was so friendly!

The location was amazing, and Donna was the perfect host. The Hotel is beautiful and everything was great. The only thing that would have made it better is an ensuite. Thank you for contributing to a great Easter break.
