There’s so much to see and do in and around Atherton, from nature walks and water falls to cafes and strawberry picking to gemstones and geocaching and everything in between. The cooler weather is a welcome escape from the humidity of the coastal areas. Accommodation types are many and varied so there is something to suit every budget. The Tablelands are a food lovers paradise with a relaxed country vibe.

We liked it so much we came back for another two nights, then extended a further two. A lovely town. So many lovely places to visit. The pretty little village of Yungaburra is a must, as is Lake Eacham, and Herberton with great museums and quaint shops with locally produced food.

So much to do!

So much to do! There are 2 coffee plantations, with great restaurants. There's also a fruit winery, 2 ice-creameries, a dairy selling cheese and chocolate, as well as the beautify waterfall circuit. Our daughter and her partner came to the tablelands for birdwatching.

I have visited Atherton Tableland many times and have brought many family members and friends to the area. One of my favorite things to do is to find something new each time I visit, and I have succeeded again this trip. The beauty of this area is just amazing from swimming in the relaxing water of Lake Eacham, the Gallo's for its wonderful food and chocolates to walking through the Yungaburra Markets with friendly faces and glorious home crafted goods, so many talented and creative people in this world. The atmosphere is enchanting, and it keeps me coming back time after time.

This is a beautiful little town in the heart of the rainforest and easy connection to other little towns , lots to explore. We were a family with nature loving kids aged 7 and 12. We loved visiting the crystal caves and the Bat hospital in particular . We also travelled to nearby Yungaburra and did a local river walk where we saw lots of bats and a platypus. Then there’s lots of rainforest walks close by too in Malanda. We definitely should have stayed longer than a couple of days.

Good location on a quiet street. Spacious kitchen and large bedrooms. I liked having a washing machine and a full sized fridge with all cooking and eating utensils provided. Pedestal fans were a lifesaver. Price was good, as I was travelling with 2 adults and less expensive than separate hotel rooms.

The professional service from Management and Staff was respectful, and they went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable as I was visiting my brother in Atherton Hospital.
