A pleasant hamlet with a great bakery, decent cafes and a superb natural products health and beauty shop. The wintertime scenery is lush and green with Balingup making for a great one-night stop over.

Very small, quaint and friendly town.

Very small, quaint and friendly town. Population 400 - a few cafes but nowhere to have dinner. Mr Foster at Mr Foster's - 08 9764 1887 will prepare a meal for you on a takeaway basis and you return the plate the next day. You need to order by 2.30 pm and pick up by around 4pm which is not much help if you are arriving late. The Shamrock Hotel about 10kms away is a great alternative. Balingup folk were holding a Medieval festival the week after we left which I hope to get to next year. Wonderful gift shops and lots to do in and around the area. The local tavern is closed for refurbishment and I imagine when it does open it will provide meals.

Love Balingup. So pretty and worth a stop.

Love Balingup. So pretty and worth a stop. A visit to Tinderbox is worthwhile and The Old Cheese Factory. A fe lovely little craft shops. One down side is that if you are staying there is where for dinner. Tavern is closed as I think they had a fire. So cafes for coffee and lunch only.

Bakeries and cafes are awesome.

Bakeries and cafes are awesome. Balingup fruit wines are exceptional. Visitor center and shops are informative. Town sleeps early, however there are good restaurants open for dinner short distance from Balingup.

Balingup is a very pretty rural town with a good collection of shops and places to eat. The local people are very friendly. We had a picnic in the Golden Valley Tree Park, which is only a 2 minute drive from Balingup town. The park is very pretty and is well kept. The Old Cheese Factory is definitely worth a visit, especially if you like arts and crafts and lots of antiques and curios. A real Aladdin’s cave.

Our hosts Janene and Peter are lovely. They have only owned this property for a short time. We had everything we needed, the fire was lit and the cottage nice and cosy. There are 2 cottages, only 1 has a wood fueled fire. This cottage has 2 bedrooms, one upstairs in the loft. The grounds are small but the view from our verandah was magical. The kitchen is well equipped which is great as there is nowhere to go for dinner in Balingup. The bed was comfortable the bedding was new and very pretty.

A hidden beautiful spot in town of Balingup. It's a wonderful get away place full of native flowers trees and wildlife, loved the surroundings and great place to wonder around. The cottage was beautifully clean, well looked after even though it was built in 1950's, we all loved the woodfire in the living room as well! We were also welcomed by his freshly hand picked apples from the orchards.I would definitely come back for next time!!

The bed and down pillows were super comfortable. Location great, easy to find and 5mins from Balingup township and 25mins from Bridgetown. The gardens and trees just beautiful, the alpacas were cute. Peace and quiet! We were able to have our 2 small dogs with us. Privacy from other cottages. Having Netflix was good. Lovely property to take walks. Lovely bathroom.

Beautiful clean, well appointed house. Away from the highway and with lovely views over Balingup. 2 issues were probably my fault. It doesnt have a washing machine (not listed- l just overlooked) and l could not work the electric stovetop. The outdoor undercover area is really big and comfy and the parking easy and convenient.

Very clean with a comfy bed and pillow! Everything you need for a well rested get away. Stocked with fresh milk and bottled water. Feels like a hotel room in the bushes. Wally is very friendly and welcoming and his dog is so friendly!
