This newly renovated hotel offers sleek, practical and modern interior with kitchenettes in all the room. Not only does it come with your complimentary tea and coffee, but also cold beverages (water, coke and red bull). On the beds, you have bathrobes and slippers that you can use for the spa for each guest. We were upgraded to a superior double suites which has a separate room and en-suite bathroom, which meant that the kids had their own bathroom as well. The superior suite also has a combo oven and a stove which is not available in the standard room our friends stayed in. The hotel also has a spa which offers a pool, spacious relaxing beds with partitioning, and two saunas with different temperatures. It is very much comparable to dedicated wellness spas. Service was good with friendly staff on hand who can advise you on what to do in Zell am See, especially with children. Our hotel gave us a “Summer and mobility pass” which meant that the activities and public transport were free (or heavily discounted). The location is a short walk from the train station and close a couple minutes walk to the pool and town centre. Close enough to the main attraction, but far enough from the busy centre. I definitely recommend this hotel, especially if you have children.

I was traveling with my son, and after a full day in the saddle, we truly appreciated the comfortable room, friendly staff, and the perfect location right in the town center. The hotel has a cozy, family-run atmosphere, and the view from the rooftop terrace was simply stunning! In the morning, we enjoyed a generous breakfast selection — enough to satisfy both a hungry biker and even the most demanding foodie 😊. After exploring Zell am See and riding along the alpine lake, we’re now heading towards Grossglockner — but we’ll definitely be happy to return someday. Location. It is located near three gondolas. There you find lift tickets(Schmitten) and ski rental(Brundl). With the lift tickets I could ride all lift chairs, gondolas and buses. And Brundl had shops in every gôndolas, giving total support, I did exchange my boots You can return to any of their shops. I skied all the way into the city and returned to the shop at the end of the slope. Cannot be in a better location when it comes to skiing Train station is a six minute taxi cab ride. Breakfast was good, and dinner was always the highlight of the day. I couldn't wait for dinner. You sit at the same table during your entire stay. There are many places to eat at lunchtime. At the summit with a gorgeous view, but the good thing about ski in/out, is to remove your boots after the morning run, put them in your locker with your room number, and with your slippers, have lunch at the hotel bar. My son had the VAYA special hamburger every day. And, there's the swimming pool and the sauna. The room was good, roomy, clean, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, .... robe to go to the pool.

Mountain Paradise in Salzburg Province

A paradise in the Austrian state of Salzburg, Zell am See is located along the shores of the Zell Lake and surrounded by mountains like the 2000-metre high Schmittenhöhe. It is an important ski centre in the winter and a hiking and mountain-biking paradise during summer.

The area has been occupied since Roman times, but the village was founded around the year 740 by the order of Bishop Johannes I of Salzburg. The picturesque Old Town includes typical Alpine style buildings, as well as the oldest building of the region, St. Hippolyte's Church. The Austrian area of Zell am See offers a wide range of hotels, B&B’s, apartments, and guest houses.

The leisure centre has a covered pool, a sauna and steam bath, and special facilities for kids. Zell am See is a gateway to the Hohe Tauern National Park, the biggest of the Alps and Austria’s oldest.

Would advise when booking accommodation that you book somewhere that includes the summer card as this gives you free access to all the gondolas in the area and free travel on local buses and trains plus discounted entry to many activities and saves you a lot of money.

    You can see a lot of facilities with the summer card. A lot to do for families ( hiking, cycling, rafting, bathing, swimming, sightseeing,visiting museums ). The food and drinks in restaurants are expensive, so it’s better to have food included in the hotel price or buy it in the store.

    It's the right midpoint between the regions of Leogang and...

    It's the right midpoint between the regions of Leogang and Saalbach-Hinterglemm, if you are into mountain biking, and the Grosser Donnerkogel, if you are into via ferratas. Being in Zell am See gave us the possibility to do multiple things withing a 1h driving radius.

    Zell am See is rightly popular because it is uperbly located on the most beautiful lake, with mountain scenery that changes with the light throughout the day. it is also makes an excellent centre for touring. special mention must be made of the Kaprun Glacier and the Kaprun Reservoir. Simply unmissable.

    Views of the lake with the best mountain backgrounds are from the other end of the lake - the most northerly. We didn't do it, but it looks like a good place to hire bikes or electric bikes to see more of the lakeside.

    Zell am See is a beautiful place and we have stayed there many times over 40 years. We were unaware that the week we chose this trip was a mid season break and nearly all facilities and services in the town were closed. It was like a ghost town, with limited amenities and very few visitors. WHY WERE WE NOT TOLD THIS BY THE HOTEL WHEN WE BOOKED!!!!!!

    Our room was neat and clean. It had a fully equipped kitchen. It was nice to also have empty lunch boxes in the fridge for people who want to do picnic. Room itself was of decent size. The staff was super nice and smiling. We also got a thank you for stay salt sample at the check out which was nice. Very cute 'Honesty Shop' in the hotel from where you can buy groceries, eggs etc, very convenient in case someone needs something urgently. 5 min walk to the lake.. 10 min drive to the Zell Am see city centre.

    Our stay in Zell Am See was wonderful. The hosts gave us great tips on local sights & restaurant recommrndations. Their full breakfast was a perfect start to the day. This apartment has stunning views and is very close to the Old Town as well as Cable Car to the mountain top. We highly recommend this family run boutique hotel to other travellers.

    Very good location 3 km out of crowded Zell am See centre, which is easy reachable by bus nr. 70 (ski-bus), which is free of charge and runs every 30 minutes from early morning till late evening. Stop is located just in front of the apartments. Ski-bus goes directly to CityXpress ski lift just in 10 min.
