We stayed in the Altes Kloster for a family break. The hotel was really comfortable and clean. The check in process was very simple and the staff were really friendly. The location is perfect if travelling to Bratislavia or Vienna. The room was huge and really comfortable. This was one of the best hotels I stayed in for a long time based on the price paid.

A really lovely experience. We arrived late as were driving and we could check in with no problem. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The bathroom has a shower and a bathtub (not that we needed both but there was a choice). The breakfast was very nice, the omelets are great and bread in Austria is next level. We also really appreciate a small gift at the end of our stay. Overall, it was a really nice small hotel.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this guesthouse, and everything was absolutely perfect. The location was fantastic—convenient and close to everything I needed, yet peaceful and quiet at night. The host was incredible—so welcoming and attentive, making sure every aspect of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The room was spotless and well-appointed, making it feel like a true home away from home. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay!

The main attraction of Petronell is the Roman site of...

The main attraction of Petronell is the Roman site of Carnuntum, which was an important city on the Danube border. The site is truly amazing, with excavated areas and reconstructed buildings including houses, workshops, a banqueting hall, studies and bedrooms, an amazing baths complex, and open-fronted street shops which would have sold, for example, food. We had our evening meals at the Marc Aurel Hotel, and daytime drinks, coffees and snacks at the small Roman 'pub' opposite the entrance to the site or the cafe attached to and overlooking the site itself.

Petronell Estate is a wonderful place, and the hostess is...

Petronell Estate is a wonderful place, and the hostess is very friendly. There's plenty to discover, both in the immediate vicinity and elsewhere. The Roman Museum is well worth a visit, and the nearby wildlife pond is also lovely, especially for those seeking peace and quiet! The train to Vienna departs directly from Petronell, and there are numerous restaurants nearby as well!

The place is beautiful, we had no idea that there was such a wonderful cultural monument here. Museum. We were here all afternoon, there is really something to look at. A piece of history breathes in you. Very nicely maintained exhibits. I bow to the founder, he did a good job. Thank you.

We've already visited the Carnuntum exhibition at another...

We've already visited the Carnuntum exhibition at another time. But there are so many other places to visit in the area – for example, the Heidentor (Heathen's Gate). A little tip: Pimpel Winery (the Sauvignon Blanc is perfect for remembering our Petronell holiday).

The incredibly impressive Carnuntum Museum, along with its...

The incredibly impressive Carnuntum Museum, along with its two amphitheaters and the Heathen's Gate, leaves a lasting impression of the largest Roman settlement north of the Alps. We were deeply impressed by the wealth of artifacts, the restoration of the buildings, and gained a genuine insight into the lives of the Roman civilian population. A visit is definitely worthwhile.

We are staying here for over 5years and everytime is perfect - very clean & comfortable rooms, super helpful staff, great dinner after the road. Location is also great for tranzit, visiting Viena/Bratislava our the roman monument walking distance from the hotel. Highly recommend and would always stay there when in the area.

The hotel is situated in a quiet rural town, perfect for an one night stay. It is about 50 km distance to Wien and about 20 min drive to Parndorf. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Free outdoor private parking.
