The room blew us away! It was very spacious and modern, totally not what we expected from a two-star hotel. The bed was large and comfortable. Even though the room didn't have real airco, the ceiling fan cooled very quietly and efficiently. The balcony was also a nice addition providing the option to sit outside. There was also a large 55" flatscreen TV with the option to log in to (your own) Netflix. There is also a ferry nearby to take you to Hallstatt.

We stayed in the separate cottage, which was lovely. Everything was clean and ready. There was milk and juice for us, as well as Nutella, tea, a coffee machine, and jam for breakfast. The location was wonderful, and there were no issues with parking.

Calm, peaceful with stunning scenery. The Park was family run and our hosts were warm, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and there was a lovely terrace to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Our cabin was cosy and elegant and a delightful home from home during our trip. We chose to stay outside Hallstatt, and on reflection it was a good decision as the views across the lake in the evening where lovely.

We really enjoyed our stay at Haus Bellevue. Our room was clean, well-equipped, and offered an amazing view through the window. The shared kitchen was great for preparing a quick meal. Andrea was kind and helpful throughout our stay. The railway station and bus stop were also really close, which made getting around super easy. Would definitely recommend.

    We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to...

    We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to Obertraun in order to visit Hallstat. Unfortunately, the transportation wasn't very convenient for us. One of the trains that we had arranged was late and we had to wait two more hours in order to get the last train to Obertraun. We departed from Vienna at 8:00 and we arrived to Obertraun at 15:30! Obertraun was very close to Hallstat. Hallstat is a magical place but next time I would prefer to visit it by car.

    Stay in beautiful Obertraun instead of the overpriced and...

    Stay in beautiful Obertraun instead of the overpriced and crowded Hallstatt! We stayed 3 nights in a lovely accommodation Haus Edelweiss, and following the recommendations of lovely host Nina, we spent one day walking from Obertruan to Hallstatt. Along the way, we saw this stone path going up the hill and we went up (very do-able hike), and it led to a very beautiful view of Hallstatt! We then went down the other way and continued walking towards Hallstatt, explored the beautiful village and took the ferry (Euro 12/pax) back to Obertruan. Next day, we walked a loop from Obertruan to Koppenwinlsee. The walk was very lovely and we saw tiny red strawberries everywhere! There was a restaurant after Koppenwinslee but I think it was closed on Mon-Wed (please check), and other days open for lunch & dinner, so time yourself to make it in time for lunch/dinner. We were stopping so often to admire the scenery that we missed their lunch time! It is better to visit during non-summer to enjoy Austria.

    Beautiful town as if directly out of fairytales... Good option to stay when visiting Hallstatt... Queiter...serene..cheaper accomodation compared to hallstatt...good connectivity to reach hallstatt.

    Very very beautiful place, it just like fairy tales story!

    Very very beautiful place, it just like fairy tales story! Even we missed the bus to go to Hallstatt, just chilling on this river side it was still a very good moment and experience. The swan came to eat my shoes btw.

    We liked Obertraun because it was an easy 40 minute walk to...

    We liked Obertraun because it was an easy 40 minute walk to Hallstatt and after spending a day there, we could get away from the crowds and numerous shops for some peace and quiet in Obertraun. Obertraun has unobstructed views of the beautiful mountains. We didn’t particularly like having only one restaurant in Obertraun open for meals. Thank God the pizzeria had a variety of decent food as we had to eat there on both nights.

    Obertraun is great spot for tourists and people who like...

    Obertraun is great spot for tourists and people who like hiking in Dachstein area. The town itself is not so big and crowdy. There is one supermarket and only few restaurants in the town but Hallstatt and other towns are not far away by car. Close proximity to Hallstattersee is also big benefit for summer swimming or walking along the lake.

    Franziska & Thomas were amazing hosts, so friendly and welcoming. It was so lovely to chat every morning at breakfast and get ideas for the day. The rooms are immaculately clean and all the furnishings are so comfortable. Loved the breakfast spread too ! It was so generous and delicious. The views from our balcony room were unbeatable too ! Definitely was happy to stay in Obertraun over Hallstatt. Very peaceful and quiet in November. A very special and memorable stay.

    The localization is Obertraun is great as Hallstatt is very crowed. Very close to the train station but we cannot hear anything, it has a backery and pizzaria close by. We made our own dinner in the kitchen and had all you need. Also you can easily walk to Hallstatt as it not the far from the last Parking area. The owner is very friendly and replies very quickly to our messages. I definitely recommend the place.

    The hotel is situated in a very picturesque area. Breakfasts and overall service were of a high standard. There’s a lovely park and a stunning mountain lake nearby where you can swim. A train station and a bus stop are also within walking distance, making it easy to reach Hallstatt. If you prefer walking, the route takes about an hour at a slow pace

    The hotel is only 6 mins by foot to the Obertraun station. By bus it can get to the Dachstein cable Car and Hallstatt quite easily. The town is a lot quieter and peaceful than Hallstatt but still has a great lake view. Any direction has a great view. The breakfast is also quite nice.
