Plötzhof is a quirky old home full of character and very well appointed in the kitchen and bathroom without losing any of the old charm. We enjoyed exploring the area especially a trip to the Hallstatt salt mine and the lakes closer to the property. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much

A very old historic building of the 14thC. Neat and spacious common areas, good sized bedrooms; down feather amenities; logo slippers, gowns, and ten out of ten heating; very clean spa. Linen change as you wished and towels daily. Breakfast: it was above and beyond with fresh produce and a full basket of local dishes, Austrian hams and cheeses, scrambled eggs, fluffy viennese croissants, vegan & vegetarian diets, breads, desserts etc and a large assortment of juices, teas & coffees. Lunch and dinner: it was a pleasant experience too. The service of the staff: was excellent with very polite staff available to assist you in any in-house enquiries to suggestions for outdoor experiences. Location: location was value for money! Hotel in a small village, next to a large market center, a 14min drive to Salzburg Old Town and a 45min drive to the closest ski resort. We would definitely return to this gasthouse.

The location, the scenery, the food we loved it all!! Staff in the hotel is truly caring, very friendly and they really want to make sure you have a superb stay at See Rose. The room and facilities were spotless, there’s a little gym in the hotel too, that’s got enough equipment to have a good workout. Once you leave the hotel there’s plenty of activities to do nearby, if you like hiking or walking in general this is the perfect place for you. Public transport is pretty good , there’s 2 bus in most hours from the village to either towards Salzburg or Bad Ischl. I’m glad we spent 4 nights there and can’t wait to come back in summer time!

The Hof bei Salzburg itself is a beautiful peasefull village, very calm and quiet. Lots of supermarkets and DM store available and located in the village. In the evening after 7 pm everithing pretty closed, so make your shopping in advance.

Very comfortable quiet room with excellent bed. Gorgeous views over golf course and a portion of the Lake. Would have liked a small nespresso machine or similar as no coffee making facilities in the room. Otherwise it was a superb choice and we loved every minute of it.

This hof is like no other hof I've ever seen.

This hof is like no other hof I've ever seen. The lush green beauty is too tempting to look away from. Also, please do take a trip to Halstatt for a day to visit the salt mine and ride the funicular.

It's a nice enough place overall with a decent host, but...

It's a nice enough place overall with a decent host, but could do with some improvements. + Spacious property, good water pressure, good beds, great deck/terrace, good location (quiet, picturesque, really close to both Salzburg and Mondsee/Wolfgangsee bith by car and the local 150 bus) - absolutely rubbish/unreliable wifi; towels didn't smell very nice and no new/fresh towels throughout a week-long stay in summer; use of washing machine €3/wash; no mosquito nets on windows and no air con either (which means you'll get many insects if you want the windows open in the evening).

Beautiful location by the lake. Property is renovated with new furniture, so feels modern and fresh. Welcoming staff at the restaurant. Good food. Room was well furnished but low celings and really small bathroom (tiny) was a bit disappointing for such a room category/price. Fischerei next to the hotel sells amazing smoked fish.

Location-wise, the hotel is in a good spot, with convenient access to the city center, Hallstatt town, and St. Wolfgang town, all within a 30-minute drive. The added benefit of free parking is appreciated.
