A very old historic building of the 14thC. Neat and spacious common areas, good sized bedrooms; down feather amenities; logo slippers, gowns, and ten out of ten heating; very clean spa. Linen change as you wished and towels daily. Breakfast: it was above and beyond with fresh produce and a full basket of local dishes, Austrian hams and cheeses, scrambled eggs, fluffy viennese croissants, vegan & vegetarian diets, breads, desserts etc and a large assortment of juices, teas & coffees. Lunch and dinner: it was a pleasant experience too. The service of the staff: was excellent with very polite staff available to assist you in any in-house enquiries to suggestions for outdoor experiences. Location: location was value for money! Hotel in a small village, next to a large market center, a 14min drive to Salzburg Old Town and a 45min drive to the closest ski resort. We would definitely return to this gasthouse.

Everything! It’s a gorgeous property, with a wonderful garden and a great terrace area for drinks/meals. They are also extremely dog friendly. They provided food/water bowls as well as a soft rug for our dog (and treats)! The garden view room was lovely - our dog loved to sit by the Juliet balcony and look outside. And they do serve a brilliant breakfast! The entire staff was quite nice and helpful as well.

The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps. Nice small hotel in Austrian village, with excellent breakfast, car parking ,clean room but a bit old facilities. However, excellent destination by bus to the center of Salzburg. The bus station is near the hotel and it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the center. The 24 hours tickets is possible to buy at reception. Absolutely recommended.

A lovely hotel just out of town with great breakfast. My room was spacious and comfortable and I enjoyed sitting in the outdoor space with the view of the mountains. Great base to see Salzburg!
