Aktiv Und Wellnesshotel Gutjahr is a wonderful place to stay if you're looking for a relaxing and comfortable getaway. The hotel boasts two saunas, one textile sauna and one traditional sauna, which provides guests with a variety of options for unwinding and rejuvenating after a long day of activities. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic, with a wide range of delicious and fresh food that is definitely worth the extra ¥15 per person. The hotel rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and we were lucky enough to receive a beautiful apartment that was clean, comfortable, and modern. Additionally, there is plenty of parking available, and there is even a charging station for electric vehicles, which is a great bonus. Special note for the service we received by Ms. Simone whom was going out of her way every time we needed anything. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Aktiv Und Wellnesshotel Gutjahr and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in the area. The hotel's amenities and excellent service make it a top choice for anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation

What were your favourite places there?

What were your favourite places there? The Sommerrodelbahn, The Cable Car, The Postalm Panoramastrasse and the drive through Fischbach. What we highly recommend is a nice walk through the town and surrounding places itself!! This is a very very pretty place. Where did you eat? We cooked ourselves. However, we bought groceries at the Spar market in the town. Is it easy to get around Abtenau? Yes. The town is very accessible. We, however, did not use the public transport. What would you avoid on your next visit? Nothing really. The place offers a lot of things to a tourist!

The town has a pleasant center with restaurants and supermarkets for self-catering. I arrived by car. A highlight was a hike on the Postalm with its rustic alpine huts, where even solo travelers can easily strike up a conversation with other hikers over a snack.

Abtenau is ideally situated for hiking in both the Tennenberg and Dachstein Mountains. Lake Gossau, with its view of the glacier, is a feast for the eyes. The Postalm invites you on numerous hikes. Lake Hallstatt also offers many hiking opportunities.

The village is beautiful and clean, as is typical throughout Austria. The people are welcoming and kind. There's a wide range of accommodations at all price points to suit everyone, both in summer and winter. Abtenau's excellent location makes it easy to explore the region and enjoy the magnificent views.

The surroundings of Abtenau are beautiful, I was just disappointed that there is only one cable car operating in the immediate vicinity in the summer, so most hikes have to start at the very bottom (or of course go higher by car, which seems very untouristy to me :)

A very well-kept, clean town, perfect for relaxing, given that life ends at six in the afternoon. I chose this very characteristic town as a base for visiting Salzburg, which is about a 45-minute drive away, and Lake Halstatt with its mines and the Golling Waterfalls. The scenery and places are fantastic. Just watch the speed limits on the roads.

The owners were quick to answer to messages & requests and very likeable. The ski lifts were close, the shops in Abtenau were also close, the location was quiet, the apartment was clean and great and it had everything we needed, the appliances were new and worked well. The bed was comfy, the kitchen / living room was super-spacious, the shower was great.

The apartment was very modern, nice modern bathroom and amazing views from the balcony overlooking the mountains. The area is a bit remote so very quiet. The landlady was very nice. You can see few animals as this is a working farm, the baby donkey was extremely cute.

We stayed in a hotel for one night on our way to Italy. We traveled with a dog. The hotel was great. The room were very spacious and clean. We didn't have time to enjoy breakfast, but it looked very appetizing.
