The building is well planned and built, and very clean. The staff is polite and helpful, though not everybody is fluent with English. There are great hiking areas nearby, with churches and birds, and the climate is much cooler in the summer than Yerevan and its surroundings. And not too many tourists - a great place for summer holiday. The city is very actively polishing itself. This may become a major attraction in 10 years. Go now before the masses find it!

We had a fantastic time staying in Karbi, and wish we could have spent longer there. Zhanna's house is absolutely beautiful, with amazing home made decorations and beautiful Armenian carpets everywhere. We had the entire top floor of the house to ourselves as there were no other guests during our stay. There is a delightful balcony with views looking out over Mt. Ararat. Zhanna and her husband were incredibly kind and hospitable: the breakfast and dinner that they provided were superb. They are a lovely couple too. We wish we had more time to get to know them. The garden at their house is lovely, with large fruit trees providing cherries, mulberries etc that we were encouraged to eat lots of. Overall, a lovely stay. We just wish we'd planned ahead more so that we could have stayed for longer. If we return to Armenia we would seriously consider hiring a car and basing ourselves here for e.g. a week.
