Meta is in a traditional small village high up in the mountains. The road itself on which you reach Gusmar is a miracle - beautiful valleys, high rocky peaks, marvellous waterfalls, good quality asphalt and exciting hairpins. Villa Meta has its own garden offering great privacy , possibility to chill, relax and enjoy the view of surrounding mountain scenery. The place is very remote, only a few families live in the area - who are very friendly by the way - which gives you a feeling that you are out of the fast paced daily civilization rush and offers you perfect opportunity for a peaceful rest. The Nivice Canyon near Gusmar is a must to visit. The Uspoiled nature, the force of water and erosion made stunning rock creations, super high stone walls, breath taking waterfalls and Crystal clear mini lakes in which you can have a baths. The whole place is so beautiful and untouched that you only see such in the movies. We have spent two days in Nivice Canyon with family and dog, then spent an other two days visiting the Seaside near Borsh which is a 40 mins drive from Villa Meta. The road offers brilliant views, the Ionian sea is very clear, the shore is sandy or covered with small white oval rock pieces like the ones you see in Kneipp spas. To this holiday we took our Mountain Bikes with us and rode an other two days in the region on rocky singletracks, alpine roads and western-like highlands. Alltogether we stayed 6 nights in Villa Meta - which offered generous space in and outside (we were 3 plus a dog), quality furniture, well equipped kitchen and bathroom, not very fast but liveable internet & wifi. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, showed us around in the area and adviced which places to visit, how and when. They provided tons of food, home - made milk and cheese, home grown fruit and vegetables. They live in a city nearby and brought an other ton of food in the middle of the week in case we may starve🫣😊.

This is a very new hotel which is still in the process of being finished. it was in a convenient location for us as we were cycling through the mountains and needed a place to stop. The room was really comfortable and clean and we particularly loved the bathroom. The windows were really sound proofed. The staff were very polite and helpful, particularly the young woman who was working when we visited - she made a lot of effort to communicate with us as we don’t speak Albanian.

If you are looking for a true Albanian experience. Do not look further, because Progon House has it all. Progon House is hosted by an elderly couple and is located in a very remote area. The town is a collection of sheep shepherds, bee keepers, and is very very small. It is about 45 min drive from Tepelena. The elderly couple is super sweet! We wanted to barbeque at our first night and they already put on the fire for us. They supplied us with oil, spices, and vegetables from the garden. You can count on a traditional breakfast and we also paid for a traditional Albanian diner which included stewed lamb, spinach pie, and some kind of paella with chicken, although I am sure they don't call it paella. We had an absolute wonderful stay and we would highly recommend this to anyone that is open for a bit adventure in Albania!!

This is one of the best family-run guesthouses/hotels I have ever been to. I advise people to stay longer than just one night. The view is astonishing. The owners are supernice n there is lots to see in the immediate neighbourhood. The breakfast is vast. ( U have to be a horse to eat all the stuff ). Homemade cake, peachjuice ( not from concentrate ). Tasty fish for dinner at a very reasonable price. The room had a key-issue.. it was fixed within 1 hour. Good matrass. Everything very clean. Amazing. Aphrodite.. yes indeed.

The property is very new, it just opened a few months. The desk staff is very friendly. The free breakfast is also very good.

Great find, lovely hotel ( looks quite new) steps away from the beach and with friendly staff. Beds are super comfortable and pillows as well. Shower had pressure and always hot. Breakfast served in there restaurant in front of the beach was lovely to. You can pick as many items as you want and coffee and juice. Good service all true out. Good parking under the hotel as well for no extra charge. Location perfect to move around the beaches from Dhermi and Himare. Thank you so much.

We were very pleased with our stay. It is a very quiet and nature-centered location. We rented 3 rooms. The family that owns the hotel is very friendly and helped us with everything. Thank you very much for everything. See you again soon!
