Elephant next door is a true recommendation. Small gem right next to Udalawe Nationalpark. Very cute design, you see Janaka the owner put a lot of heart and soul into this place. He is nothing but friendly and helpful. He organizes everything you need and in his little own restaurant he is offering amazing local food for his guests. Go for early morning safari with Leel and you will be the first to enter the park, see Elephants and enjoy the morning in nature when the park awakes around you. The room has AC and ceiling fan, hot shower water, moskito net (which we actually didn’t need) and is clean. Cute front room serves as a kind of living room and outside patio with a nice place to sit, free games and yoga mats! Elephant Transit home and Restaurants in walking distance. Would always go there again when staying in Sri Lanka! Price-value is top! 10 out of 10.

It was a great homestay in udawalawe. We got there without anything organised for the next day and he took us on a safari with his jeep. He's very knowledgeable and was able to spot all possible animals from such far distance! The rooms are simple and clean, dinner and breakfast were absolutely fantastic there. Very highly recommended
