I really can’t say enough good things about this place. Everything was just perfect for us. Pool, beautiful garden with giant butterflies, family owned. Great food. One of those places that makes you love Vietnam because of how nice people are. The owner can arrange pretty much anything for you (trips, bikes, laundry any advice or recommendations…), both him and his brother are very knowledgeable and pleasant. The property is very well mainteined. Everything is possible. They also speaks perfect English (I know. I should learn Vietnamese).

Only thing you should consider is that it is about 20 min drive from the main town, you can rent a motorbike here and that was just another great experience, but if you do not drive it can be a bit more difficult for you to move around, although the taxi is always an option. For us, this was the best accomodation in our 2 weeks holiday in Vietnam and the only bad thing was we could not stay longer than 2 nights. We really loved it here!

We liked the location because it was not in the town of car ba and we rented the scooters from her to get around the island. we had all we needed! :)

JoyStay is on the quieter side of Cat Ba, so make sure you are comfortable renting and riding a motorbike beforehand. You can rent one at the property from Mr. Chuyen for super cheap. The owner was super helpful in getting us on a half-day cruise of the bay last minute before we left.

I loved everything about this place, I could live here permanently, the whole place is brilliant and the hosts made it amazing! The location is perfect, not too far from the centre but just far enough, the food and drink, excellent, nothing was too much trouble, the best atmosphere, great vibe, family fun in the jungle, lovely outdoor pool, great dining and socialising area with a pool table, motorcycle hire, advice on trips and tours, absolutely recommend to anyone, from any country, we met some really cool guests too, 100% book it!
