After three nights, we really felt like it was our home away from home. The building is a wonder and itself worth the visit. Joyce and her team were so attentive, personable, and helpful and family-style meals were excellent. Utupoa sits directly on the beach and easily reachable by foot from the village of Matemwe. What a wonderful way for our family to get to know a corner of Zanzibar and to unwind from our adventures. Thank you, Joyce!

Most rooms feature sea views and each unit is equipped with air-conditioning, a flat screen TV and a tea-and-coffee making facility. While some rooms are fitted with bath or an outdoor shower on the terrace or garden, all rooms have a private bathroom with extras such as a hairdryer and free toiletries. We visited the Zanbluu beach hotel as a family. The stay was great and unproblematic from check in to check out. The food was very tasty and varied. There were always good alternatives for vegetarians or people with gluten intolerance. the drinks, especially cocktails, were delicious. The room was always clean, the house keeping staff took good care of it. Every bed is equipped with a mosquito net, which the housekeeping staff diligently rolls up and rolls down every day. But we didn't saw not even one mosquito.The facility including the pool is also very nice. The gardeners and co try very hard to make sure everything looks great. We have been to many hotels but have rarely had such a good hotel staff that makes the greatest effort with every request. The consistently friendly and courteous staff alone is one reason why this certainly won't be our last visit. The upper floor beach front bungalows are like staying in a treehouse on the beach. The bed is huge and super comfortable. The balcony overlooking the beach has a daybed, table and a chair. You can walk straight on to the beach. Monkeys jump around in the trees directly outside the balcony. The food is amazing, and an incredible breakfast is included in the price. The beach, although wild and windy when we were there end July/beginning of August is stunning. Absolutely perfect!

There is a private entrance at the chalet for the convenience of those who stay. The chalet features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. I had such a fantastic experience staying at Paje Emerald Escapes! The villas are absolutely beautiful—peaceful, well-designed, and a true slice of paradise. But what truly made the stay unforgettable was the incredible staff. A huge thank you to Leslie, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. From arranging airport transfers to organizing tuk-tuk shuttles, she was constantly helpful, professional, and incredibly sweet. Her kindness really made me feel at home. I’d also love to give a special shoutout to Salim for helping me out when a few geckos made their way into the villa. He came over right away, was extremely helpful, and so kind throughout. I would absolutely stay here again—not just for the stunning villas, but because the people here genuinely care. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Paje!
