After three nights, we really felt like it was our home away from home. The building is a wonder and itself worth the visit. Joyce and her team were so attentive, personable, and helpful and family-style meals were excellent. Utupoa sits directly on the beach and easily reachable by foot from the village of Matemwe. The accommodation had a wonderful atmosphere. Lots of hammocks, beautiful interior and lovely dogs. We admired numerous palm trees and listened to the sound of the sea. We liked the quiet, almost deserted beach. There are far fewer traders than on other beaches.

I had such a fantastic experience staying at Paje Emerald Escapes! The villas are absolutely beautiful—peaceful, well-designed, and a true slice of paradise. But what truly made the stay unforgettable was the incredible staff. A huge thank you to Leslie, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. From arranging airport transfers to organizing tuk-tuk shuttles, she was constantly helpful, professional, and incredibly sweet. Her kindness really made me feel at home. I’d also love to give a special shoutout to Salim for helping me out when a few geckos made their way into the villa. He came over right away, was extremely helpful, and so kind throughout. I would absolutely stay here again—not just for the stunning villas, but because the people here genuinely care. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Paje!

The staff at Monkey Mountain Lodge were incredibly kind and welcoming, we’ve never felt so well taken care of. The place itself is absolutely beautiful and will stay in our memories forever. The bungalows are clean, cozy, and offer amazing views with baobab trees. Every morning we were visited by adorable blue monkeys, which made the stay even more special! The breakfasts were also delicious. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Zanzibar!
