Cabanaconde
Surrounded by greenery and hills at the bottom of the Sangelle Valley and offering an outdoor pool and free breakfast, Oasis Paraiso Ecolodge is located in Cabanaconde. Cabanaconde can be reached in 3 hours, by foot, horse or mule only. A beautiful ecolodge in the centre of the oasis! The rooms are basic but comfortable, the hosts are extremely kind and helpful, and the food is delicious. Cozy and comfortable, a great place to stay after a long day of trekking or to prepare for the final ascent :)
We hiked here for 6h and were so happy to arrive. The cabins and general state of the hostel is much nicer than on the pictures. Its really cute, charming and relaxing. Food was very good.
Nice stay, the hotsprings are really nice and relaxing. Common area is basic but nice as everyone gathers there at the end of the day. Rooms are very basic, just a hut with a bed. Shower was hot.
Location is what makes this place a wonderful stay. Surroundings are phenomenal. Cabins are very basic, don’t expect too much, but it suffices. Electricity so you can charge your devices!
Oasis Paraiso Ecolodge is very nice facillity situated close to the river on the bottom of the valley. You are accommodated in the simply wooden huts, but there is really warm, no need to have a sleeping bag. We were suprised we were given to the breakfast at 5 a.m., so you have plenty of time to ascent back to Cabanaconde (3 hours) to catch the bus at 9:30 back to Arequipa. There is also one pool with thermal water (ca 22C) to refresh.
It is a small paradise at the edge of the Oasis. Basic huts, but a nice swimmingpool and good local food for dinner with free tea. They offer the option to get your breakfast as early as you want before starting your walk back up from Sagalle. This gives you full flexibility when to start your hike back.
Location is 10/10. Most idyllic spot you can have, besides a river, in between canyons. The are was very green with flowers as well. Very well maintained. Huts were cute and there were comfortable chairs and lay beds outside the huts. Hotsprings are obviously a major win after a long day of hiking. Good dinner for such a remote spot. They make vegan option upon request.
